Transcript from the Kattabolt comic website. Nathan and Leigh are exchanging attacks, showing once again that while they are both water casters, their styles and level of ability are quite different. Leigh has returned to the spiraling water around his hands from the alleyway fight, and Nathan is once again resorting to throwing his arms out to shoot strong jets of water. After multiple misses from Nathan, Leigh raises a leg and nails a strong kick directly in Nathan’s chest.
Chris, meanwhile, begins to herd Alex back and out of harm’s way while using one of his arms to block her view despite her indignant protests.
CHRIS: Alex, move back. This isn't safe for us. ...Casters in a bad mood are how towns get flattened.
ALEX: Hey! Wait! We’re not gonna stop them!?
Nathan stumbles back from Leigh’s kick to his chest. As he does so, Leigh reaches out with his water-covered hand. The water around his hand is still spiraling and begins to pick up speed, alarming Nathan only a moment before he’s violently spun right down to the ground by an increased gush of water. He hits the ground with a painful WHUMP.
ALEX: Shoot. Leigh is real creative.
She is hanging over the arm Chris was using to block her view on the previous page. As she comments, Nathan has thrown his arms up into the air while on his back in the dirt. He shoots a funnel of water straight up into the air above him… where it seems to be collecting in a massive ball of water. On the ground, an astonished Leigh is staring upwards as his long cat tail poofs out a little and his cat ears flatten to the sides.
The watery shadow is looming over Nathan as he slowly gets back to his feet. His face is contorted, eyes screwed shut and arms tense as they stretch upwards to hold a massive ball of water in place. It is hovering ominously above Nathan and Leigh both.
Leigh pulls his arms up to protect his face, preparing for Nathan to drop the massive weight of water upon him– but then a ball of fire shoots suddenly past Leigh, nearly striking Nathan, who quickly flails to the side with a cry of alarm.
NATHAN: Whoa!
A beat later, Nathan realizes what he’s done; his dodging the jet of flames broke his concentration and connection to the gigantic ball of purely cast water that is still hovering above his head. It wobbles menacingly as its form begins to lose shape.
Nathan: ah.
SFX: CRASH
Nathan dives frantically out of the way as the water comes crashing down between him and Leigh. Leigh’s arm shields his face from the torrent.
As the last drops from the deluge of water head for the ground, we see Ray. He is climbing back out of the little stream, angry tears running down his face and with his left arm thrown straight out towards the viewer with extreme perspective. His still-burnt hand is steaming, proof enough that it was he who tossed the fireball in Nathan’s direction to break his concentration.
ALEX (looking increasingly worried and pulling nervously on her hair) : Maaaybe now we stop them?
CHRIS (scared and worried, seemingly frozen in place while he bites his lower lip) : Mnn…
ALEX (with even more concern and tension) : *Chris.*
In the final two panels of the page, as Nathan, Ray, and Leigh continue their fight in the background, we see that the little hut Ray and Leigh call home has begun to spark. The fireball that Nathan dodged had, instead, hit the little wooden structure. The roof is showing some small flames, and then the rest of the old wood begins to catch very easily. The flames are quickly fed with a loud FWWOO! sound.
