This is a good reminder that we must respect local cultures. If people don't behave like guests, the gates will eventually close for everyone. #Japan #TravelEtiquette

Using #blametheory we can see that Kyoto is now treating tourists as #wrongdoers .By calling them paparazzi the city shows that the tourists are responsible for their actions. This justifies the strict new rules and fines.
In this article Tourists are chasing #Maiko and even pulling their kimonos. Because of this bad behavior the city is now banning visitors from small streets and giving out fines to protect the women.
Today I have read this article about Kyoto closing Gion’s private alleys.

This is why many Koreans accept immigrants as workers but not as family. When the frame is always about legal status or money, it blocks real social connection.
This happens because of #FramingTheory. The media often frames these migrants in a negative way focusing only on fake marriages or money. Because the news uses this lens, the public starts to view all marriage migrants with suspicion.
This is about the daily struggles of people who moved to Korea for marriage. Even after living there for decades, they are often treated like strangers. The article shows that even their children are bullied because society still sees their mothers as foreigners rather than true members.
Today I read this article about the reality for marriage migrants in South Korea.

The text says the economy cannot provide enough qualified jobs anymore. This makes it sound like the youth is a burden to the system. But these are people who studied for years and now they are left with nothing.
The article only talks about numbers #GDP and the 5.5% growth goal. In Social Representation Theory, the media turns this human disaster into just a cold GDP problem.
I just read this article and it says nearly 20% of young people have no job. That is millions of students who just finished university and now they have no future. #China
Today I just came across this article about the record youth unemployment in China in the German Tagesschau.

If the birth rate stays this low, it will be very hard for the #sandwichgeneration to support the aging population.
Japan is not the only country with this problem. Even in France, more people died than were born in 2025. This is a global trend that will change how our society works in the future.
At the same time, the number of deaths is very high. In 2025, over 1.6 million people died. This means Japan’s population is shrinking by almost 900,000 people every year. This is a huge #imbalance for the country.
This article discusses how Japan's birth rate fell again in 2025. For 10 straight years the numbers have been dropping. Last year only around 705k babies were born. This is the lowest level since 1899.
I read this interesting article about Japan's population decline and the record-low birth rate.

As long as we call it a 'Japanese problem,' we can pretend it isn't happening here. This narrative is just an excuse to ignore the crisis in our own cities.
It creates a distance "Us" the normal ones vs. "Them" the strange ones. It’s like watching a lab experiment, not a human tragedy.
Also, why only use the word #Hikikomori ? Loneliness is a global crisisbut the media uses this name to make it look like a weird Japanese quirk.
The article labels Japanese people as economic problems. It's all about GDP and birth rates, but it forgets the actual humans.
This is classic #Orientalism. It makes it feel like people in the East don't have "real" emotions like we do. They aren't robots
Today I just came across this article about the "Hikikomori" crisis in Japan.

Using this old "representation" makes the alliance feel unstable and puts pressure on Takaichi. It makes it harder for Japan to be seen as an equal friend while Trump is making big decisions about the war in the Middle East.
Social Representation Theory is the main point here. By bringing up 1941, Trump is changing the "image" of Japan in the public's mind. Instead of seeing Japan as a modern partner, he reminds everyone of the old image of Japan as a wartime enemy.
In this article President Trump is asked why he didn't tell Japan about the military strikes in Iran. Instead of giving a serious answer, he jokes about Pearl Harbor and says Japan should understand surprise attacks best.
Today I read this article “Surprise, embarrassment, unease in Japan after Trump uses Pearl Harbor to defend Iran war"

Now Beijing is doing the same thing. They try to point the finger at a few specific politicians in Taiwan. But people there aren't falling for it. They look at the political system in China and just don't want any part of it. The #Chineselabel feels more like a threat to their freedom.
The KMT made reconquering the mainland the mission for everyone on Taiwan. To make this work they forced everyone to learn Mandarin in school and tried so hard to make them feel "Chinese." They basicaly used this mission to blame the CCP for everything and justify their own strict rule.
The article was published by The Diplomat and written by Zhuoran Li. It’s such a good look at why everyone in Taiwan is calling themselves #Taiwanese now. It is ironic because the more Beijing tries to force a connection the more they actually push people away.
