I keep reading that it’s a waste of money to buy salad kits. But when I buy the cheaper elements, I end up throwing away spoiled greens and other perishable ingredients. Not sure I’m saving money.

Chai latte around here seems to be related masala chai, or black tea, aromatic spices, some kind of milk (steamed for latte, but often condensed for the Indian version) and a sweetener. It also reminds me of Thai tea a bit, but that’s usually served cold. All of which you probably already know.
I’ve never heard of tea latte, but there’s a lot of chai latte available in cafes around here (St. Louis MO).
