In the book, the anti-capitalist and pro-violent-anarchy group Project Mayhem paint a giant face on the side of a tower block with windows where the eyes should be, making it look demonic. This is also what Cindy, a member of the anti-capitalist pro-violent-anarchy group the Skulls, does!!

Wait. Are the Skulls, Cindy, and her giant grinning skull painted over the apartment buildings in Disco Elysium inspired by Project Mayhem from Fight Club?
every time an online creator describes their own stuff as "content" a tech billionaire somewhere in the world gets 10% more insufferably smug
Once you get over the initial shock of the intimacy of someone else making your inner world sound like theirs, it's a whole lot easier
I haven't done this in a long, long time, but...I think I remembered how to read BOOKS
who would we have here? from left to right- obviously Harry, then Jean, then....?
Characters from the movie walking down a street in a line, a crew of neerdowells each with a unique and descriptive pose.
the urge to draw our C-Wing the same as this still from The Misfortunates (2009) is incredibly strong
Not the prophet shit again... (He looks away.)
saving images in webp format no longer makes makes me feel angry and itchy.......what happened to me, man.......
(I don't mean that it necessarily needs to be a forced failure state, though. forced failure is BIG and DRAMATIC. sometimes a character just can't do something yet, and i think simply stating that in the text can work very well if not overused to the point of feeling like the player has no agency)
AND THEN, depending on whether a stat bonus was gained, something like "It's no good, you can't bring the name to mind" as a fail state, OR
ALTERNATIVELY, if the character was never SUPPOSED to remember, I don't think it HAS to be written as a choice. not everything in life is, right?
so, from my example, i think a more sensical Thought Layout for a general situation would be something like- "Try to remember the name of the man in the photo" alongside maybe a "Wait, what am I looking at here?" (a chance to gain a stat bonus, or some context, or just some artistic flavour)-
-the inclusion of the choice "try to remember" implies something TO remember. who would naturally choose not to (unless story-driven, eg trying to forget something painful)? so, this is the restlessness they have, trying to present a conclusion to a thought process alongside the process itself.
-if you look closely, one of the thoughts will not belong in the same beat as the other, belonging instead as the CONCLUSION to the other. so, the thought "try to remember" (with a check for, say, Recall ability) will be presented as a choice alongside "I can't remember". this is confusing because-
something I've noticed is that, when a person attempts disco-style writing in a text-based game, it often feels like they get very restless with its pace. for example, when offering a choice between two different thoughts as a reaction to one specific moment-
this character, Celle (played by Koen De Graeve) reminds me a LOT of our boy Du Bois, and that's partly why I'm studying him in particular...

When Republicans talk about and implement total partisan media takeover, their plans for “internet safety” also factor in. They want to concentrate online power into platforms they can control, but they’re disguising it as bipartisan efforts to keep kids safe online.
why does my cat smell exactly like frazzles. he never normally smells even a little like frazzles
And yet every time you see a picture of the same 23 terfs looking miserable in a field somewhere, we're told they're the majority opinion
Why @why.bsky.team Until December of last year I was using LLMs as fancy autocomplete for coding. It was nice for scaffolding out boilerplate, or giving me a gut check on some things, or banging out some boring routine stuff. In the past two months Claude has written about 99% of my code. Things are changing. Fast
in case you ever wondered why bsky breaks all the fuckin time and is increasingly a pile of jank

[we both stand silently. the old floorboards feel hard under your feet. you look around. cobwebs, peeling wallpaper. nothing.
then, in a doorway, a shadow. you follow it up from its base- up, up, until the top- then, lurching, its one shining, unblinking eye opens]
