I saw a cybertruck (painted blue) today with a box of tissues on the dash. My only guess is that they are for wiping the frequent tears that the driver cries in shame as they drive around town and everyone gives the finger, a dirty look, or laughs in ridicule.

Public funding for B.C.’s private schools is indefensible - CCPA Public school funding, as a share of GDP, is declining. Why is the provincial government still funding private schools?

My latest:

Public funding for private schools growing faster than public schools

When analyzed on inflation-adjusted per-pupil terms, from 1999-2000 and 2025-26 B.C. spending on public schools increased by 32% compared to 50% for private schools

The systematic destruction of feminist spaces online is what inspired us to start  The Flytrap. Since last year, part of this work is archiving key Bitch Magazine articles that have disappeared from the internet. Here's some pieces we reprinted this year!

This isn’t a debate between “development”& “conservation.”

It’s a war between short-term greed and long-term survival.

Our forests aren’t luxury green spaces, they are life-support systems.

Destroy them,& we destroy the air we breathe, the water we drink,& the climate that keeps us alive.

A Toronto hospital recognized that a huge returning percentage of their emergency services kept going out on the same marginalized folks.

Despite Apocalyptic Warnings, California Fast Food Wage Hike Didn’t Kill Jobs UC Berkeley study finds employment held steady — and only pennies were added to menu prices.

A new report from the University of California shows that the state's decision to raise the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20/hr didn’t hurt jobs, or raise prices much.

Data from over 2,000 restaurants shows that the $20/hr minimum wage didn’t reduce employment.

I just discovered that #Amazon is charging for a Kindle copy of my e-book, which the publishers and I published CC-licensed and free of cost. We didn't list it on Amazon, only on Archive .org, the publisher's site, and Google Play.

Has anvone dealt with fake reviews? This person
is mad because I used Al to illustrate my book and
wrote a review without actually reading or
purchasing the book. I reported it to Amazon but
was just wondering if anyone else has experienced
this?

Book contains generated content that does
not belong to the author

When I see authors like
Choosing
to use generated illustrations, it makes me
believe they do not stand by their own product. I
would support the author if they paid for real
illustrated artwork- it is shameful since the story
could have been helpful to children going through
the same thing. Since the art is obviously
generated by artificial intelligence, I don't have
confidence that the written content belongs to the
author; The author chose to use generated art
and so the book content is likely to be generatec
as well. Invest your money elsewhere, this book
is not worth the price.
