I saw a cybertruck (painted blue) today with a box of tissues on the dash. My only guess is that they are for wiping the frequent tears that the driver cries in shame as they drive around town and everyone gives the finger, a dirty look, or laughs in ridicule.
“…frauds like that are commonly called “recovery scams,” when fraudsters approach someone who has already been victimized claiming they can help recover their stolen money.”

My latest:
Public funding for private schools growing faster than public schools
When analyzed on inflation-adjusted per-pupil terms, from 1999-2000 and 2025-26 B.C. spending on public schools increased by 32% compared to 50% for private schools

Vintage poster titled Eat The Rich with a picture of a spoon full of screaming faces, spaghetti noodles and pearl necklaces. At the bottom it says “Make sure to chew real slow!”
Oh, let’s not stop at just scaring them. Make sure to chew real slow.
The systematic destruction of feminist spaces online is what inspired us to start The Flytrap. Since last year, part of this work is archiving key Bitch Magazine articles that have disappeared from the internet. Here's some pieces we reprinted this year!
This isn’t a debate between “development”& “conservation.”
It’s a war between short-term greed and long-term survival.
Our forests aren’t luxury green spaces, they are life-support systems.
Destroy them,& we destroy the air we breathe, the water we drink,& the climate that keeps us alive.
A Toronto hospital recognized that a huge returning percentage of their emergency services kept going out on the same marginalized folks.
They created supportive housing for these people, including medical care, and they SAVED $1.66 million.
They’re expanding the program.

A new report from the University of California shows that the state's decision to raise the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20/hr didn’t hurt jobs, or raise prices much.
Data from over 2,000 restaurants shows that the $20/hr minimum wage didn’t reduce employment.

I just discovered that #Amazon is charging for a Kindle copy of my e-book, which the publishers and I published CC-licensed and free of cost. We didn't list it on Amazon, only on Archive .org, the publisher's site, and Google Play.
Has anvone dealt with fake reviews? This person is mad because I used Al to illustrate my book and wrote a review without actually reading or purchasing the book. I reported it to Amazon but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Miss 會文文文女 Book contains generated content that does not belong to the author Reviewed in Canada on April 11. 2026 When I see authors like Choosing to use generated illustrations, it makes me believe they do not stand by their own product. I would support the author if they paid for real illustrated artwork- it is shameful since the story could have been helpful to children going through the same thing. Since the art is obviously generated by artificial intelligence, I don't have confidence that the written content belongs to the author; The author chose to use generated art and so the book content is likely to be generatec as well. Invest your money elsewhere, this book is not worth the price.
Don't want negative attention for selling slop?

How did I not know, and yet am completely unsurprised that Kevin O’fuckface-Leary would be involved with this? Maybe Corb Lund can play them a get out tune as they make their southern retreat 🤞
Wipe the meat with a damp cloth is a new one for me. I can’t help but picture someone using a dishrag 🤢 Overall sounds tasty, though I’d use a paper towel nowadays haha
One of our local LFLs has a trinket drawer which is absolutely adored by the preschool set (and others).
It's not just Calgary: We're seeing fear of "disorder" overtake fear of crime as crime rates drop. We see pushes for enforcement without interrogating root causes.
Exclusive: The acting director of the CDC has delayed publication of a report showing the covid-19 vaccine cut the likelihood of ER visits and hospitalizations for healthy adults last winter by about half, according to two scientists.
Will Doug and the Slugs be there? Because I’m quite sure that they already have their own 80s time loop. They just keep going and going and going.
I feel like this could be a good temperament indicator for your daughter. Was it fun/very exciting or terrifying/worst day ever? I feel like my two kids would be at either end of that dichotomy.

It is Canada’s Tournament Capital. Who else can make that claim to fame?! 🏆
The cover for Wild People Quiet takes my breath away. I’m normally a library e-book person, but I may have to treat myself to that one in its true form 💙
