Cutting-edge theatre makers who would blow the roof off of any venue lucky enough to have them can’t make rent! And it’s no wonder when they’re paid weekly fees that don’t even work out to minimum wage. We can and must do better.

Much like rent, taxes and energy prices the middle class survive, the uppers thrive and working class people are expected to pretend like they stand a chance in a system rigged against them.
It feels like calling something grassroots is a bad thing and instead of learning how to nurture ourselves and develop each other we’re taught tips and tricks to prove how worthy we are to make theatre.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. It exists to remind us of those those in our community we have lost to violence, which trans people are four times more likely to experience than cis people. This is our reality: bigotry, harassment, and violence are ever-present, and yet we still find joy.
