Bay Area folks: Do you want to dwell upon life and death? Would you like to come face to face with Charon upon the river? Shall Xolotl guide you and maybe summon an actual hummingbird before your eyes? Go see this. The best immersive theater group around and maybe my favorite of their productions.

Calvin and Hobbes 4 panel snowclone rip-off with father explaining for first three panels.
Panel 1: “Playing with Windows? I’ll show you something interesting.”
Panel 2: “The two types of Windows software are Xbox or Copilot. All software falls into these two categories. Teams? Copilot. Paint? Xbox.”
Panel 3: “Explorer? Xbox. PowerShell? Copilot. Despite using it for work, Explorer is Xbox.”
Panel 4: Calvin in bed losing his mind.

Congratulations! Your Webinar involved into Webbstar!

Compound neologisms shouldn’t be allowed to replace arbitrary sequences of letters which aren’t chained together. Seminar? Sure. Webinar? What the heck happened to the sem!?

Seminar -> webinar? Are there other kinds of -inars for study groups we don’t know about? Laminar?!?

“webinar” is the worst compound tech-things word still in common use. Even E-things like e-commerce and esports are somehow cool by comparison.

Screenshot of part of The Crimson Diamond Steam store page, showing a bit of the key art, on which is handwritten in clunky letters: "600! Thank you!!", indicating the game has hit 600 reviews and is Overwhelmingly Positive! The key art is altered so that Nancy Maple is wearing a conical party hat with blue and green stripes and there are little fireworks in the sky.

Thank you so much!! 🎉🎉 The Crimson Diamond has hit 600 reviews, Overwhelmingly Positive! Making this game was my dream project, seeing people play and enjoy it gives me so much joy. ☺️

And it's still 25% off (until tomorrow) for the #CuriousOdyssey Steam event! store.steampowered.com/app/1098770/...

Why are there so many ghouls on TV nowadays? Shouldn’t they be lurking in crypts and preying on low level adventurers without turn undead instead of on Fox News?

Perhaps. This year even the AAA folks are rolling their eyes at the terrors of having to interact with the trash on LinkedIn. The tides of Sick of This Shit are rising to some high peaks.

The best sign of our collective desire for shared well-being: this is the first GDC where I have received overwhelmingly positive responses from people I meet when I ask if we can be in touch somewhere besides LinkedIn.

A pair of cherry headed conures on a cage.

I took care of a pair of disabled birds from the flock for a couple years too. After research done at UC Davis we learned the flocks were being affected by bromethalin, a rat poison. They would effectively get vertigo and be unable to fly. Folks found them lying on the ground.

Mark Bittner, who starred in hit S.F. documentary ‘The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill,’ dies at 74 The wild parrots of San Francisco’s Telegraph Hill had an unlikely champion in Mark Bittner, the busker-turned-caretaker whose bond with the birds was chronicled in a celebrated film and memoir.

Mark Bittner was a San Francisco legend and we are lucky he was immortalized in film. For my birthday when I was 10(?) years old I asked—and got—to meet him as my present after I had seen stories about him in the paper. www.sfchronicle.com/sf/article/m... #parrots
