Shopify is mandating that all stores *opt out* and only allows them to opt out after the agentic storefront has been activated or by contacting your Customer Success Manager, which is only available if you have Shopify Plus at $2,300 a month.

Another important element of this is #datacollection.
When one of your customers purchases an item using an #agenticstorefront, that sales data is provided to the owner of the #LLM, which is sold to data brokers.

Names, addresses, shopping habits, purchases, devices, etc. Up for anyone with $1.

#Shopify is introducing #agentic shopping through LLMs, which is sure to cause a huge problem with photos, titles, descriptions, and policies being completely wrong.

Why is Shopify doing this?
Because they're charging shops a referral fee and will take a cut of this to increase Shopify's profits.
