I'd like to hear your take on something like Blott on the Landscape or Charters and Caldicott from same period.

Oh this one! I caught the last episode and the caning bit at the end terrified me! I hated period pieces set in schools. My idea of hell. Great article by the way.

Reminded me of the graunched Sergeant Arnold. I wonder if Camfield likes open mouthed corpses!

First saw this as a bootleg in early 86 and was captivated. Didn't see the opening two for a few months. Still my favourite Pertwee.

Here's another bump for this in case you missed it earlier in the week. It's the perfect accompaniment to the traditional rewatch of The Long Good Friday.

Ah, but think how much better they would have looked directed by Richard Martin.

He gets crankier by the episode, and I loved Steven smiling at him as he dismisses the Spa's technology.

Devil's Planet is simply stunning. A few moments where my jaw dropped. I also came away from these episodes (and a rewatch of Armageddon in between) regretting how Katarina could have been developed into something truly special. I note she has been given small hand acting too.

And a magnificent analysis far beyond my ability.

Thank you. Fantom edition is superior. No typos or mistakes!

Extraordinary detailed deep dive into Douglas Camfield's sole episode of Blake's 7.

Loved that cover back in the day. Remember getting it during the school holidays and en joyed getting a glimpse of another Hartnell story.

They could do cliff-hangers in those days!

Excellent book covering a period of TV where drama changed from what I was used to into something which alienated and lost me. This book helps explain why. And itvhas Dr Who in it.

Is no one else excited about seeing Roald and Lizan watching Mavic Chen on the Big Screen while the Technix mill about? And the Spa flying!

Thankfully they replaced him with a dog that could act.

At last, we shall finally see the Screamers in action in another Terry Nation swamp/jungle setting and the Death of Zephon!

A substantial, thoughtful response to the BBC Charter Review green paper from the BBC WAC Campaign (of which I'm a part), focussed on Written Archives Centre issues but more broadly address to questions of trust and transparency. Do please take a look.

Surprised Scarred for Life haven't clutched their hearts over the presence of... the Jeavons. And his hair.

The Monsters Episode Three is outlined in the Substack this weekend. Link below! You may have missed Episode Two as I forgot to advertise it. Professor Cato's scheme is outlined, and the two deaths are explained. Is there a link? Or is it something green?

The Monsters Episode Three Another mutilated body floating in the lake. The work of a prehistoric monster? Or is there a more human agency responsible?
