You need skilled diplomats. USA came in with a pen knife to a gun fight and were massively unprepared. It would be an insult to clowns to call the administration clowns.

The Devil's Highway is awesome. Reading The Rings of Saturn by W.G. Sebald and Cabo de Gato by Eugen Ruge.

The story is pretty lame, regardless.

I just approach every book assuming I may or may not like it and go into it as blindly as possible. And it may be good or bad, objectively, whether I like it or not. Disliked To Kill a Mockingbird - too smarmy. Grating.

Consumers will go to the theater less and less. Big tvs are super cheap now. We only go to the theater once every 5 years or so. Cost and convenience.

According to reports, ED took the lump sum instead of keeping the monthly pension. Unfortunately, it was used for his wife's healthcare medical bills. Had he continued monthly, they would not have been affected by medical bills.

Only Delphi, a subsidiary of GM, salaried workers were affected. And some executives. Hourly were unaffected. Salaried either got a lump sum or annuity transfer. In almost all cases, pensions are insured. PBGC took over the Delphi pension plan and had significant reductions.

I wonder if he's well off and doesn't think so. I've known some old people who said they struggled on two pensions and each with Social Security and a nice home. They talked about how expensive things were and they got free rides to the doctor and shopping.

Honestly, who wants to go to a national park on a free day? But, yeah, I get it. It's more of the awful news every single day.

Usually best to get a used business laptop. But Chromebooks are great for a lot of people.

Depends on the book. Sometimes, non-fiction can be 2x or higher, depending on the narrator. Almost never 1x. 1.3-1.5, typically. Start at 1.5 and go from there.

I hadn't heard of him. Went right to Spotify to add to list of artists. What wonderful music.
