I really want to know what made this tree decide “well, I’m just gonna throw out this huge branch and let it follow me up,” thoughts?

Cool. Though I was born and have spent a good deal of my life on the wet side of the mountains, recent years have found me smitten with the dry side (except for those pesky wildfires, central Oregon, I’m talking to you 😉)
