From Noah Franz: Today’s paper explores the potential connection between two transient astronomical phenomenon: Tidal disruption events and extreme coronal line emitters. 🔭✨☄️

Space Drafts #104 is happening next Tuesday (Feb. 18) at 7:30p Tucson time at Borderlands Brewing Downtown and bit.ly/SpaceDrafts104. Aldana Grichener will be teaching us how to make gold out of neutrons and Haowen Zhang will be telling us about black holes near and far!
I also found this to be a great book for an overview of astrophysics!
As a 2nd year undergrad taking a similar class we used “Principles of Astrophysics” by Charles Keeton. I really enjoyed it and thought it did a fantastic job with the order of magnitude part of astronomy with lots of dimensional analysis to understand topics :)
