Politics is a lifetime career like any other. It requires decades of experience to master the complexity of constitutional governance. The responsibility is on the citizen to elect those that prove trustworthy and effective.

We could replace what we lost with USAID with a renewed Peace Corps and a new mandate. Global stability will depend on cooperation between nations, shared resources, and trained/equipped responders. There's more to this, I won't go on. Just my idea for solving a few issues with one good policy.

When this era is over, we must move our defense posture to global peace, IMO. With climate change, there is going to be massive climate migration. That will cause more instability. If we had a robust Peace Corps with a renewed mission, part of that could be rapid disaster response et al. 2/

Thank you. I've thought a lot about it, but I want to create a white paper on the idea. One thing to note is that the U.S. has nearly 800 bases across the world. If we drastically reduce that it will close these bases. I don't think that's a good idea with the rise of China. Now, stay with me. 1/

Thanks, I've seen some before. I don't have an hour. I'm certain he is excellent. I don't know what "normal working people" are in this reference. If you suggest a House full of plumbers, I'm not sure I agree. The reality is that being a politician is as much a career as any. Thanks.

And by applying some of these funds to peace, that would change the trajectory of innovation. Again, I think we need innovative ideas, as suggested, to move forward as a society.

Ok, you didn't mention reallocation of the funds. I agree. Although cutting the budget by half would be impossible in my opinion. And I still think giving the Peace Corps full DOJ recognition and budget would be a great advancement for world peace.

Please allow me some leeway: I haven't looked at the allegations. I've always stood on the side of women in these cases. Yet... I do think the time will come when we have to allow due process in these cases (stay calm). False claims are real. This is not a commentary on the Swalwell case.

Also, it would show America's commitment to global peace, and many countries would follow. We currently don't have a Peace Policy in the U.S. and we should.

In doing so, a big portion of the budget would be shifted from wartime supplies to peace efforts. This way, we don't lose jobs in the sector and change the functional results of the spending. Suppliers begin to build tools for peace while the corps is ramping up globally.

First, let me say that I support building a whole new economy from scratch based on cooperation that is separate from the nation-state construct. That's a long-term dream.

Let's hope. The problem with cutting the defense budget by that much is that it would lower the GDP by 1-2%. It's a major part of our economic activity. While I agree we need to begin to reduce it, it's possible to allocate it in a way that promotes peace and prosperity.
