🆕 on The Shinboner: For this week's post I wanted to drill down on the issue of turnovers and the different types of them given it was (largely) what decided North's loss to Brisbane.

My weekend with English fooball's biggest overachievers Lincoln City have restored my faith in the beautiful game

I spent Easter weekend behind the scenes with Lincoln City as they confirmed promotion to the second tier for the first time in 65 years.

This is the story of the most overachieving club in England.

This is absolutely beautiful and very well done.

There was so, so much going on in the 45 seconds from North's Melbourne's defensive 50 stoppage to Jy Simpkin's game-sealing goal I tried to document it all.

Multiple efforts from some, gut running from others, a couple free kicks going missed, brutal tackles, and split second decisions.

It's so fun when two or three things happen in a split second and the result happens further down the chain. Case in point, this passage from Brisbane #AFLSaintsLions

🆕 on The Shinboner: Today's post is a long one. Very long.

It's all about how Sunday's game was played nearly exclusively on West Coast's terms and what that all meant.

Been sitting on this thought for a bit, debating whether to say it, but...

The last time I walked out of a North Melbourne pre-season game as worried as today was back in 2019. We know what changed halfway through that year.

Processes looked off offensively on that day. Today it was all defence:

After seeing Popyrin lost this morning, I thought it had been a while since his last win. But after digging, I didn't realise he'd lost 10 (!) matches in a row.

Today in Day 1 of the #SheffieldShield round:

• 17/210: VIC (7/61) v QLD (149)
• 15/303: WA (5/64) v TAS (239)
• 14/299: NSW (202) v SA (4/97)

Individual top score of 55, only three others 40+. It's more nuanced than 'pitch bad!' 'batting bad!', but geez, it's not great.

How the Thunder helped heal Oklahoma City 30 years after unimaginable terror For 30 years, the Oklahoma City bombing -- the most devastating act of homegrown terrorism in history -- has been seared into the identity of the city. Since 2008, the Thunder have been trying to hono...

NEW: The Thunder are built upon a tragedy that seared their city 30 years ago. When Sam Presti arrived in 2008, he was so inspired by the recovery that he built his team in its image, forging bonds with those whose lives forever changed on April 19, 1995. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/...

I was ... uhh ... not expecting India to lose 4/4 in two overs 😳

Hopefully a sign of more World Cup chaos to come (said as someone planning to spend most of his three weeks leave watching it)
