Very interesting idea. Focus on longevity and stability? Right now, the gold standard for longevity is still 1/2 inch tape. However, the price is absurd and it’s hardly a convenient format for most uses.
My poor, poor wife thought that changing her name to “Jacocks” when we got married was a good idea. I tried to talk her out of it, but I don’t think that she understood what she was in for! :-D

Sorry, but you could use that argument to justify any punishment, no matter how draconian. Threatening life imprisonment and hard labor for what amounts to trespassing violates the 8th amendment.
