Stacy Mitchell has the best command of this subject. She explains how Amazon's ability to match any discount absolutely shreds competitors trying to give you a lower price. To hide these powers from nosy reporters, Amazon shuts off the magic algorithm during holiday shopping season and Prime Day.

Trump issued an order that aims to illegally rewrite the rules for federal elections - instructing USPS to refuse to deliver ballots sent by anyone not included on newly created federal mail voter lists. Dafuq.
Criminal penalties for election officials, mail carriers…like an April Fools but not.
Trump's advisers are telling the Wall Street Journal that he told them his genocidal threats were an act to seem “as unstable and insulting as possible."
If so, why are you telling the newspaper it's an act?
Yep. And, in America, merely pointing this out will also get you branded by the MSM as an "advocate" for one side of the issues.
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
Happy Tim Curry is 80 now, to all who celebrate.
⭐️ Best movie for teens ever: Rocky Horror Picture Show
This is a snapshot of the failure of MSM and the concomitant ignorance within the American electorate about what is happening in and to their country.
Was it widely televised?
I’m guessing no. That was newsreel era - 16mm film, pre video.
Commenting for curiosity, lol
This was revelatory for me because I've never heard of a woman being lauded in the context of AIDS drug expertise. I've only heard about genius white guys.
Iris Long was the woman who taught ACT-UP and who initiated what became ACT UP’s famous treatment and data committee.
I appreciate the statement from Gov. Abigail Spanberger, which centers Dr. Cerina Fairfax and the children and does not mention Justin Fairfax at all.
yes please
Working extremely hard to make sure everyone knows who the bad guys are
We’ve been training for this perp walk our whole careers… The stone-faced SantaCon leader Stefan Pildes leaves the SDNY after his release on a $300K bond, refusing to say whether he fears he’ll get coal for Christmas or will feature on Santa’s naughty list.
This how you spell humanity:
One woman meets released prisoners in El Salvador.
Minneapolis citizens welcome immigrant prisoners outside #Whipple
New Yorkers protest outside #MDC
And so on. Repeat until done.

Please more attention to this.
PA last month said the two Trump prison camps they want to put there can't be hooked up to water or sewer (and therefore can't open).

Now MD says Trump the prison camp they're trying to put near Hagerstown can't get sewer either:

Bringing back the B71 bus that ran the length of Union Street and Eastern Parkway in both directions (discontinued in 2010) would be a delightful addition to the Grand Army Plaza redesign.
It doesn’t help that the B71 bus that ran the length of Union Street and Eastern Parkway in both directions was discontinued in 2010.
Well put.

Unless we’re going fully carfree/taxi-free in all of Brooklyn, nah.
Here's my contribution to a symposium on Trump v. Barbara over at the Immprof blog: immprof.com/symposium-on... TL;DR: the Solicitor General either committed some egregious errors or just plain lied to the Court, and either way, he has an ethical obligation to let the Court know.
It’s a bit sickening to think of cars going both directions at the top of Union - clockwise and counterclockwise into the circle - but other than that…okay.
With solid idiot-proofing to force drivers away from head-on collisions as they loop left. 😬
Yeah, maybe.
So the traffic circle will go both directions from Union St, instead of the current clockwise only pattern…

This is why Russ Vought defunded USAID, attacked NEA and NIH, caused CPB to commit suicide, is defund the Dep’t of Eduction, is trying to kill the CFPB, has attacked NIH and NSF, tried to kill the IMLS, closed the Kennedy Center and just yesterday took over the Presidio to turn it back to a prison.
As a current resident who walks and drives this crossroads, Grand Army Plaza might be the only place in Bklyn that *doesn’t* need a pedestrian plaza. (526 acres of Prospect Park is right there.) The car flow was improved some years back, I guess we’ll see.

One of the ways news media often fail us is by giving us the microscopic rather than the telescopic view. Everything I mention in this essay is well-documented, but the dots are mostly not connected to make visible this death by a thousand cuts our country is undergoing.
