Three words to describe three years of war in Sudan: catastrophe, atrocities, impunity.

These words don’t just describe a ‘humanitarian situation’, they are the daily reality of people and communities — and this continues because of political failure.

The triple healthcare delay for women in Somalia | MSF Shaheen BiBi, MSF's midwife activity manager at Bay Regional hospital in Somalia, describes the “triple delay” women often encounter in seeking, reaching, and receiving care.

Women in Somalia often face “triple delays” in accessing healthcare; a delay in seeking care, in reaching care, and in receiving care.

These delays can have deadly consequences.

In 2014, I visited eastern DRC, where @msf.org teams were treating sleeping sickness - the only available treatment was a drug so toxic it killed 1 in 20 patients. In 2026 I'm so proud that, thanks to @dndi.org, patients can be cured with a single dose of a groundbreaking new oral drug, acoziborole.

What four years of full-scale war has taken from people in Ukraine | MSF The war in Ukraine has forced people from their homes and destroyed hospitals. MSF is providing medical and psychological care across Ukraine, including near frontlines.

The full-scale war in Ukraine continues to empty communities, pushing people into displacement shelters. It’s heartening to see that @MSF has stepped up presence in shelters through mobile clinics, providing people with some care during a harsh winter:

Yesterday, I briefed the UN Security Council about the eastern region of the DRC.

I urged the Council to find the will to insist that civilians are not expendable, and that their rights to safety and dignity are non-negotiable.

After el-Fasher, we must refuse a ‘new normal’ of mass atrocities in Darfur Massacres at the start of the war in Sudan should have shocked the world into action. They didn't.

More than 20 years ago, the world mobilised for Darfur, Sudan. Today, world leaders shouldn’t look away from the plight of El Fasher.

We cannot let El Fasher become a milestone of horrific violence. Read more from me and @msf.org on @aljazeera.com:

Horror is unfolding in El Fasher, Sudan. People are seemingly trapped in the city, and @msf.org teams 60 km away are receiving malnourished people among those who have managed to escape.

Civilians must be urgently protected, and safe escape routes must be provided.

A letter to world leaders from MSF's International President | MSF Dr Javid Abdelmoneim, our International President, appeals to the humanity of world leaders, asking them to facilitate medical evacuations from Gaza, Palestine.

Many world leaders will get a letter from me today, demanding overdue concrete action to save Palestinian lives.

They must increase the number of medical evacuations from Gaza. Patients with life-threatening conditions cannot wait any longer:

Ethiopia: Mental health care cannot wait in Tigray | MSF Three years since the cessation of hostilities in Tigray, Ethiopia, people are living with the psychological impacts of trauma without widely available support.

On this World Mental Health Day, I’m glad that colleagues like Helina continue to provide a mental health lifeline for people in Tigray. Hear about her work:

Three years later the psychological trauma of that brutal war still haunts people, many of whom continue to live in displacement camps in very difficult conditions.

I’ll never forget the feeling of returning to Tigray, Ethiopia, at the end of the war in 2022, to restart services around Shire and Sheraro. At that time, people would wait for more than a day to see a doctor.

People and the health system are trapped in escalating violence in Haiti | MSF Our teams in Haiti continue to treat victims and survivors of violence, while the health system struggles to cope with people's needs.

@msf.org is sharing shocking statistics about the need for trauma care in Port-au-Prince, Haiti – not a new feature since I was there in 2010 but staggering in scale today.

Between Jan and June, our teams assisted 2,600 survivors of sexual violence:

My colleague Hussein was a dedicated nurse and father. Yesterday, he died of injuries from an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.

Our thoughts are with Hussein’s wife and young children.

His killing isn't a tragic accident, it's unacceptable proof that no one is safe from genocide.

The Global Sumud Flotilla on its way to Gaza is an act of protest and a show of support for Palestinians enduring annihilation through Israel’s genocide.

I’m wishing the flotilla success. At @msf.org, we support this action of solidarity and humanity.

Doctors cannot stop genocide- world leaders can | MSF Christopher Lockyear, MSF's Secretary General, details how governments around the world are complicit in Israel's genocide in Gaza.

“Governments around the world – through political, military, or material support to Israel, or through silence – are complicit in the genocide [in Gaza].” - @chrislockyear.msf.org

Doctors can’t stop genocide, world leaders can.

I’m honoured to be starting as @msf.org's International President. For 16 years, I’ve seen how MSF's dedicated humanitarians continue to care for those in need, while government policies put profit over people and planet.

I’m sharing the message that our shared humanity matters.
