Judge Permanently Bars N.I.H. From Limiting Medical Research Funding The decision came as an initial win for a broad coalition of academic institutions that had argued the policy jeopardized ongoing research, but it set up an almost certain appeal.

The NIH firing plan is really a radical institute merger and an authoritarian takeover this is an Orbanization of US science: a move to exert political control over discovery, which will kill the US medical research industry and damage cancer cures. The plan must be stopped. We can act.

As the NIH illegal firings start, let’s remember:

This is about consolidating power so Trump can control NIH, not about efficiency.
“The NIH firing plan is really a radical institute merger…”

We will fight back.

Trump administration cuts reach FDA employees in food safety, medical devices and tobacco products The Trump administration’s effort to slash the size of the federal workforce reached the Food and Drug Administration this weekend.

"Nearly half of the FDA’s $6.9 billion budget comes from fees paid by companies the agency regulates, including drug makers, which allows the agency to hire extra scientists to swiftly review products. Eliminating those positions will not reduce government spending." apnews.com/article/fda-...

Firing probationary employees is senseless. Probationaries are:
-New to their position
-Make lower salaries
-Recruited to bring in new talent
-Far LESS likely to be dogmatic

They're being fired because they have fewer protections. Not because this will improve government efficiency or cut costs.
