From the Times: “This past winter, federal troops brought death and terror to the streets of Minneapolis,” Springsteen said. “The power, the solidarity of the people of Minneapolis was an inspiration to the entire country. Your strength told us this is still America. And this will not stand.”
Great strategy!
We got home from Egypt last night around 2 AM. Ann’s teaching till 930 and I have to stay awake to make dinner. I had ambitions for a salad. But I’m afraid it’s just going to be pasta Amatriciana. And an easy bottle of Spanish temper, Neo. (I’ll let AutoCorrect have that one just for fun.)
so glad you made it! It’s one of the great fats that people don’t take advantage of.
That one two has really revived interest in the book generally. I’m truly grateful to Chef Will.
Agree, that’s a killer pickling spice to have on hand. It’s the rest of my partner, Brian polcyn
Lmk!
Thanks. That one video sparked several new print runs. Agree that guys great on YouTube.
Newsletter Saturday: making perfect stock, the easy way; a snowy walk thru Greenwich Village, a bracing cocktail, book and watching recs and more!
hey bakers and pastry chefs: a reader wants to make my snickerdoodles less crisp and more chewy. I think adding more fat, not more sugar will do this but this is not my area.
ratio: 1/2 cup (55g) butter, 1 cup (200 g) sugar, 1 cup (140 g) flour, 1 egg.
Travel notes from San Miguel, how to make schmaltz, a new cocktail, book, and movie recommendations, and more in today’s newsletter!
She was the best!
How many people out there know what I was making if I told you it was called Party Chicken?
Very cool. Thank!
Oh, and the Saturday newsletter went up in case you missed it! Cova and Mezcal, travel and books and movies! ruhlman.substack.com/p/hello-mexi...
I’m still looking for an expert on elderberry wine. can anybody direct me? This is when I miss the old Twitter. I used to get a reply in hours on a question like this.
I’m really disappointed. It’s going on a print! I’m determined to keep the information out there. Thanks for making the soup! We made it just the other night as well. But just for two, using three large onions, about the pound and a half.
Looking for an expert in elderberry wine, not a grower or winemaker. Anyone know anyone?
Thanks for all, scott. 🙏🙏🙏
Looking for a great Chinese food supply store in lower Manhattan. Any suggestions?
Thank you. What tools do you use to curate?
Really kind of you. Thanks.
Really unsure whether or not to commit to Bluesky or not! I really miss the old Twitter. And I can’t imagine Bluesky is quite the same. Would be grateful for people’s thoughts.
