It is! I remember feeling really bad in art school (and sometimes after) because I always seemed to be surrounded by exceptional draftsmen. Made my relatively strong painting skills feel subpar when drawing seemed to be the focus.
Artists seem to lean towards drawing or painting—even those most of us start by drawing, thinking in shapes rather than lines sometimes converts us to painters. Even when I try to draw, I still tend to think in shapes. Neither is better, just different.
