Imagine re-reading an entire book every time you want to add a single footnote. That is exactly how these 'Persistent LLM Wiki' workflows operate.
βItβs not 'memory,' it's just expensive, redundant re-processing. The token billing must be insane. π

People ask what machine I'm building Flint on.
AMD A8-7500. 16GB RAM (only 6GB usable β one stick is dead). 2GB GPU. Windows 10.
Four browser releases in two days. All from scratch in Rust.
Specs don't build software. Focus does. πͺ¨β‘

Flint browsing Bluesky. A browser built in Rust opening the platform that replaced Twitter for builders. Full circle. πͺ¨β‘

Rust fights you at first. The borrow checker is brutal. But when it compiles β it works. No mysterious crashes, no memory bugs. Worth every error message
Two days. Four releases. Started with text-only navigation. Now clicking through Wikipedia without touching the keyboard.
v0.3 β tabs, images, 87k blocklist
v0.4 β canvas noise, incognito mode
v0.5 β clickable links, scrollbar, page titles
All from scratch in Rust.

Main gaps: Web APIs that browsers implement outside the spec β fetch, setTimeout, localStorage, DOM events. Boa handles pure ECMAScript well at 95%+ conformance. The browser layer on top is Flint's job to implement. That's the bridge we're building.
Exactly the philosophy. No shortcuts. If it runs in Flint, it runs because we built it right. Checking out Habit Pixel β same mindset matters.
Currently using V8 via deno_core. The hardest part so far was the layout engine β getting CSS box model right so pages actually look readable. Boa is the next milestone. When it's ready, Flint goes full Rust stack.
Flint's roadmap: replace V8 with Boa β a JavaScript engine written entirely in Rust. No more C++. No more Google inside. When it's ready, Flint will likely be the first browser shipping to real users with a 100% Rust JS engine. That's the goal. πͺ¨β‘

First image rendering in Flint, my browser built in Rust.
Still early, but it's working. NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day loading natively β no Electron, no WebView.

v0.4 done. Ctrl+R, canvas fingerprint noise, incognito mode and DNS over HTTPS. Your ISP can no longer see what you're browsing. Flint is getting serious. πͺ¨β‘
