Hey, #YegGarden Folks,
Holding onto a rusty or dull set of pruners? Spade not spading like it used to?

Danielle Smith, whatâs going on???
Mitch Sylvestre, the separatistsâ leader, says that you will be passing a Bill next week to help separatists circumvent recent Court decision on First Nationsâ application.
Are you collaborating with separatists?

Some keeper varieties do. âClareâsâ ripens to a yellow-red blush, but the inside is red.
The texture is the same as a regular tomato.
I harvested these tomatoes 5 months ago and theyâre still going strong.
I find shifting the blame of failed public policy and mismanagement of taxpayer funds to âimmigrantsâ - is you knowâŚ..pretty fucking despicable.

BREAKING: We're staying at 8 homes per lot!
Edmonton City Council today voted against reducing the maximum number of homes per lot from 8 to 6 in the RS zone! #yeg #yegcc
I know itâs just parking, but I feel like we work really hard to care for this block/community, and itâs really disheartening when the City doesn't meet us with a similar level of care.
It's less about parking than the wasted physical and emotional labour - it's actually worse because this isn't the first time, and these things chip away at our confidence that the City cares about our community.
Missed our block
"Done"
Alternative, off-street parking for residents.
Hey, @thecityofedmonton.bsky.social ,
As a block, we've spent hours notifying neighbours, digging out vehicles, and organizing off-street parking, only to be notified that plowing has been completed.

Canada's true crisis is the everyday emergency of just trying to get by in an impossible economy.
Iâm running for NDP leader so we can transform a system rigged for the richâtogether.

From the DM's...
UCP MLA says via email that the decision to use the notwithstanding clause was not just about getting students into classrooms...
The UCP were worried that arbitration would cost them "hundreds of millions, potentially billions".

based on how often the naughty teens of major cities throw the rentable scooters directly into the river i've formed a theory that the many iron age swords and cauldrons found in lakes around europe that we've previously assumed were ceremonial and sacrificial in nature were in fact thrown by teens
Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:
In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.
In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.
When I learned about Storage Tomatoes, I knew I needed to grow some.
Storage đ
s are bred to have long shelf-lives and can, apparently, sometimes last from harvest to Easter.
The skin as thicker and the flesh a little more acidic, but a pretty damn good fresh tomato for the start of December.
First draft of a mural I made with the AGA, to be unveiled on Saturday.

Hey Edmonton,
What would it take to grow 1000-year-old trees throughout the City?
Find out at a screening of 'The Secret Long Tree Society" at the Alberta Art Gallery this Saturday (Nov 29th) at 3 PM.

Yep. And my call to Tories to stand up still stands.
The NDP found their numbers!
Bill 201 would
- increase minimum wage to $18 over 3 years and then index it to inflation.
- Eliminate the lower "youth" minimum wage (youth don't pay lower prices, after all)
- Ensure tips stay with service staff.

NDP leader Naheed Nenshi pulled few punches todayâŚ
Not only did he condemn Smithâs claim Peter Lougheed would support her attack on human rightsâŚ
He called her and the entire UCP caucus cowards.

A lot of questions today about how Danielle Smith -- the "libertarian" and "conservative" -- could use closure & the notwithstanding clause to remove Albertans' Charter rights.
The answer: she's neither libertarian nor conservative.
Is the province or her party, though? We'll soon find out.+
I'm the next few days, it would be a mistake to:
âď¸ limit the resistance to the teachers' demands or saving public education
âď¸ make labour/workers/unions the only faces of opposition
The UCP's pre-emptive use of the notwithstanding clause is much broader than one strike or one set of rights.
Meanwhile, in ManitobaâŚ
At least one premier has a grasp of just how serious using the notwithstanding clause isâŚ
And is taking steps to ensure that at least one province doesnât use it before hearing from the courts.

A social media post by David Staples, columnist with the Edmonton Journal Post Media Newspaper, posted on October 27, 2024 which reads: The huge win for everyone on all sides, left, right and centre, is an election where everyone believes the results are credible. We used to do this effortlessly. Vote on Election Day with proper ID. Vote with paper ballots. Votes counted by citizens with scrutineers.
A social media post by David Staples, columnist with the Edmonton Journal Post Media Newspaper, posted on October 20, 2025 which reads: Unbelievably stupid process to vote in Edmonton. Do they have no voter list anymore? Where they quickly check your name, ID and give you a ballot? Long line up to fill out paper with name/address, line up again so someone can check paperwork. Idiotic slow, stupid process.
A snippet from a news article stating "The process for voting is different this year, which can impact the time it takes to vote. All electors are legislatively required to complete a Statement of Eligibility Form (Form 13) at the voting station. This form is a declaration by an elector that they meet the required legislated criteria to receive and cast ballots. Also, some electors will need to be added to the permanent electors register before receiving their ballots. This can take time. We ask Edmontonians to plan ahead and please have patience.

Nobody tell David Staples this is all because of the changes me and my UCP have made to how municipal elections are held in Alberta.
Let's see if he can use his "journalism" skills to figure it out on his own!đ¤
