Time runs out tomorrow night to make a donation toward our Pledge Drive and claim a tax deduction. Fund a great cause (instead of Trump’s agenda) and defend cartoonists’ freedom of expression.

Earlier this year I was appointed to the board of this wonderful organisation with which I’ve worked over much of the past ten years. CartoonistsRights.org supports cartoonists on the frontlines of free expression.

When DrJack and I created this cartoon in 2016 for City Press, we were joking. Ten years later, Trump isn’t.

Trump’s solution for Ukraine is a protection racket. Without the protection.
Congrats, all!
Thanks, for sharing this, Melissa, it brings hope at a time of despair. I’ve taken the opportunity to donate (a small amount) to this venture, and encourage others to do so too… we could all be part of a new dawn of a more sociable social media! Link to donate: gofund.me/6f4995bc
Wish this article didn't use this photo because it's not about these two bros at all! It's about a non-profit aiming to build a network of open-sourced social medias! Wowza!

James Gillray’s famous 1805 cartoon depicts William Pitt and Napoleon Bonaparte, both dressed in military attire, seated opposite one another at a table, carving the world with their swords as if it were a plumb pudding. It signifies their battle to assert global dominance over one another. #EditorialCartoon #Napoleon #War #PittTheYounger #NapoleonicWars
220 years later, Morton Morland’s cartoon replaces Pitt and Napoleon with Trump and Musk. #DonaldTrump #ElonMusk #USA #EditorialCartoon
@mortenmorland.bsky.social stars Trump and Musk in this remake of the classic 1805 cartoon by Gillray which featured British PM PItt the Younger and French Emperor Napoleon I, carving up the globe as if it were a plumb pudding. Will the Americans’ overindulgence also bring about their bitter end?
Black silhouette depicting a caricatured profile of Kenya’s President William Ruto. The image recurs in meme images posted to the X social media platform by Gideon Bull, aka Kibet Bull, who disappeared on Tuesday December 24th 2024. Many abductions of young social media influencers and activists have taken place in the last year, allegedly at the hands of state police. Bull’s images have formed a large part of the “Kasongo” trend, mocking Pres. Ruto and popularised by Gen Z Kenyans in recent weeks.
Gideon Kibet – aka Kibet Bull, known for his “Kasongo” silhouette memes critical of Pres. Ruto – was supposed to depart Kenya today for a year’s study but disappeared on Dec 24, one among many young activists & influencers allegedly abducted lately. #FreeKibetBull
"My next book, A Snowball’s Chance in Hell, received excellent feedback. However, I'm still awaiting the final word, as the grant is contingent on whether the Trump administration declares the National Endowment for the Humanities a terrorist organization."
