Shokupan, the type of bread used for these sandwiches in Japan, is very soft and pillowy. The ones in Japan have the crust removed too. I imagine it's to maintain the softness of the sandwich
Photo of The Tyrant’s Behemoth Milk Tea, recreated (for the 7th? time) at the comfort of my own home (because I can’t physically go to Japan anytime soon). Ingredients include grape syrup, oat milk, store-bought milk tea, whipped cream, some more grape syrup (I am not buying raspberry sauce), and blueberry preserves on top. There are 3 toothpicks with hastily drawn trophy weapons on them as decoration.

My SIL is Japanese (she and my brother live in Japan) and knew them, said they were popular. But again maybe most of the hype is foreigners?
