Nationals have swapped pitching prospects with the Red Sox, sending LHP Jake Bennett to Boston for RHP Luis Perales, source confirms. (ESPN's Jeff Passan reported first.)
Perales, 22, throws 100. Had TJ surgery in June '24, returned to pitch late this season, including in AZ Fall League.
First baseman Josh Bell and the Minnesota Twins are in agreement on a one-year contract with a mutual option, sources tell ESPN. Bell, 33, is a switch hitter who will play at first and DH for a Twins team making its first big league signing of the winter.
Outfielder Adolis Garcia and the Philadelphia Phillies are finalizing a one-year, $10 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Garcia, 32, was non-tendered by Texas and will look for a bounceback season in the middle of Philadelphia's lineup. @francysromeroFR was on the news.
