And the staff are ace, and there are massive windows, and there are all those books there, just waiting to be read.

It is, as you would expect, full of people from all walks of life, working and reading and chatting and sometimes making phonecalls and sometimes listening to the baby singing group up at the far end.

This week I am in a waiting-to-be-called-or-not-called-for-jury-duty stasis loop, and as part of that each day I pay a dog sitter to look after KaylaDog, whilst I am not called for jury duty.

Today, as a result of that, I found myself in my local library, which has free tea and coffee for everyone.

It is not unrelated that whole sections of my life that have felt locked since the first half of 2022 have started to move today.

Turns out the nice thing about having a social media account where you only have five followers (and only four of those are real, and one of those four seemingly hasn't been on here for two months) is that there is a whole new level of freedom in writing...

Long my that freedom last.

In other news, I did edits on a script today that I have been in freeze about for NINETEEN MONTHS. I am gloriously giddy about this. Turns out the universe's time isn't my time.

Yesterday was a biggie. I met up with someone I've been wanting to see for the past year. I got to help someone else. I remembered who I am in a way I haven't for ages. And for the first real time since a friend died, I got to talk about him and about how life feels without him.
