When they received the call to respond to an Israeli airstrike in the city of Mayfadoun, in southern Lebanon, most of the paramedics held back, having previously seen colleagues killed by double-tap attacks targeting rescuers. But the medics from the Islamic Health Association (IHA) rushed to the scene.

By the time the other emergency workers arrived at the site, they found the IHA medics had indeed been caught in a second strike. They started evacuating their wounded colleagues, only for their ambulances to be hit in two further attacks.

One of the paramedics covered his ears and screamed, convulsing in pain as shrapnel shattered the back window of the ambulance.

The rescue mission on Wednesday afternoon had turned into a nightmare as Israel carried out three consecutive strikes on three sets of ambulances and medical workers.

Israel performed a literal quadruple tap attack in Lebanon to massacre three separate sets of medics.

Truly pushing the bounds of human depravity.

Remember, Democrats have repeatedly advanced measures to ban partisan gerrymandering and Republicans have voted against them time after time.

This is the game Republicans wanted to play. OK, then.

“Save Us From Death, We Live in Graves” A human rights lawyer's testimony about the terrifying conditions inside Israel's prisons for Palestinian prisoners.

"Since the war on Gaza began, Israel has waged a parallel war in its prisons.

I have worked in Israeli courts and visited Palestinian prisoners for more than 17 years, and followed the cases of hundreds, if not thousands, of prisoners all throughout my career"

Idk how many people will know what I'm talking about but-- I'd buy one of those metal vats (hydrocollator) for heating pads that they have at some physical therapy places. The moist heat is soooo goooood for my muscles. I have a big electric heating pad that i use regularly but it's not the same.

1000% agree. I have Crohns, if someone isn't willing to hear about poop then there's a huge important section of my life i can't talk to them about. And, the less taboo, the earlier people will get help for weird digestive symptoms. Better for health, we get to laugh at fart jokes, everybody wins!

Disappointed, though not surprised, I began to describe various life- saving components of USAID’s global health portfolio, highlighting how we prepare for and respond to emerging pandemic threats; support the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV; and immunize millions of children from the deadliest childhood diseases. I spoke for about five minutes, focusing primarily on our infectious diseases work and hoping to keep the attention of people who seemed to have no experience—or interest—in global health.

When I finished, the room was silent, the political appointees looking at one another in what appeared to be disbelief. The silence was broken by Ken Jackson, who chuckled softly and shook his head. “Wow, there really is so much that USAID does that we never knew,” he said. “This is the story that needs to get out there.”

Joel, also smiling, chimed in next, echoing Jackson’s amazement. “I had no idea you did all this,” he said. “As a Republican, when I think of what USAID does in global health, I assumed it was just, you know, abortions.”

Whistleblower says Trump officials thought USAID did 'just abortions,' asked for 'Barney-style' slides before gutting agency, per new book Read an exclusive excerpt from Nicholas Enrich's "Into the Wood Chipper"

NEW—I got an exclusive excerpt from a USAID whistleblower's new book that made me gasp multiple times. It details Trump's dismantling of the humanitarian aid agency & his team/DOGE's shocking ignorance to public health.

'Into the Wood Chipper' by Nicholas Enrich is out tomorrow. Read excerpt here:

Around 20% of hospital beds in the US are in Christianist facilities, most Catholic, that have happily been denying reproductive health care and gender-affirming care for decades AND enjoying a nonprofit status. Most people don't realize the stranglehold the church has until it's too late.

lol c'mon man, the protestors sure weren't shooting *each other*

Where else could a high-velocity projectile be coming from? The only people holding weapons of that type were the feds. I should know. I was there, standing across the street, watching the feds shoot indiscriminately into the crowd

What a result: A Democratic-backed candidate has won the mayoral election in Waukesha, the biggest city in the notoriously conservative Waukesha County.

Alicia Halvensleben will be the next mayor. She defeated a GOP state lawmaker.
