Meet the newest member of our family. He was adopted on Saturday and doesn’t have a name yet, I’ve been calling him by a few names but nothing feels right so far. He is 8 months old and has so much energy!

Oh I love it! Are those 2 metal planters in the background along the wall? I killed our St Augustine lawn and put natives in. Last season I got some buffalo grass going in the places where the yard was washing out when it rained, I love the fact it doesn’t need to be mowed or watered

A small mug or bowl shape sits on a pottery wheel the clay is a light grayish color
A small mug or bowl shape sits on a pottery wheel the clay is a light grayish color, there is clay splatter all over the water container.
A small mug or bowl shape sits on a pottery wheel the clay is a light grayish color, the mug needs to be trimmed at its base.
Started making some mugs on the wheel today, still need trimming and handles but overall I’m pleased with how they came out. I haven’t been doing this very long, how do they look?
I was doomscrolling earlier today and needed to keep off my phone so this was a good distraction #Pottery #ceramics

The first analysis of the Melsonby Hoards has big implications for our understanding of British prehistory, indicating Iron Age communities in northern Britain had levels of material wealth comparable to their counterparts elsewhere in Europe.

7th grade for me as well, I knew we were not going to be able to see the launch so pretended to be sick. It was so traumatic.
My daughter was making fun of me for crying during this launch today and I was having a hard time putting it into words why my emotions got the better of me

Same here, I skipped school the day of Challenger. I was all alone at home watching the launch when it all went wrong. So I get a little stressed watching a launch now, so glad everything went good today

The Ellastone Fastener - The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery
If you are reading this post near the start of 2026 then there’s a good chance you might be aware that we are campaigning to raise £150,000 to secure an incredibly rare Bronze Age treasure – a gold ‘d...
Gorgeous Bronze Age 'dress fastener' needs our help so that it can be bought by Potteries Museum in Stoke.
If we can't, it will be handed back to finder/landowner & likely sold at auction... 😭

Neanderthals survived on a knife’s edge for 350,000 years
A pair of studies illuminates these humans’ long, hardscrabble existence
Two new studies of Neanderthal DNA from @massilanilab.bsky.social, @hrougier.bsky.social, @mpi-eva-leipzig.bsky.social and others show our ancient cousins survived for millennia in small, geographically isolated groups. www.science.org/content/arti... @science.org 🧬🏺

The picture shows a piece of limestone with a drawing of a mouse sitting in front of a table of offerings, smelling the fragrance of a lotus flower which she holds in her hand. Opposite of the table is a cat, holding a fan.
A charming #Egyptian drawing of a #cat acting as a servant to a #mouse. Drawings of animals acting as people were meant as satire of the society and politics.
Dating 13th/12th century BC, probably from Deir el-Medina, #Egypt.

Photo of a cuneiform tablet fragment shaped a bit like an irregular diamond. It preserves nearly 20 incomplete lines of text separated by a horizontal ruling
There's a broken cuneiform tablet from the Old Babylonian period, nearly 4,000 years ago, which preserves a tiny portion of a dialogue between two friends.
It feels a bit like the conversations I've been having for the past week, so I wanted to share it.

Yep and the numbers last year were pretty bad, those hotels expect to be sold out for the block ahead of time and they are still available. I would not be surprised if they don’t renew their contract with Anaheim Convention Center when the time comes
