Since Comedy Central was still scrambled at the time, I’d record the audio of a couple of episodes on cassette too (Killer Shrews and Laserblast). When I finally got a descrambler box to watch the Sci-fi seasons, CC had already stopped airing reruns. Good thing for the DVD boxsets and online videos.
Around this time in 1996, I discovered MST3k via the syndicated hour episodes on local TV; Pod People was my first ever episode. Later on, I randomly spotted the newly-released episode guide at a B. Dalton’s and immediately picked it up. Would be years until I finally got to watch these episodes.
Huh! I just randomly remembered that it was around this time 30 years ago that I first played a Sega Saturn, renting one and Toshinden Remix from Blockbuster. Got to see the new Mario movie over the weekend. Like the last one, the pacing felt a bit rushed, but it was very fun to watch. Would have been better if certain parts hadn’t been spoiled online almost immediately, but oh well!
