Child me was great with cartoon violence, horror, and gore.
Doom, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil 2, so much fun!

But even then, the hyper realistic dismemberment scene from Mars Attacks was too much. So sudden, along with the closeup of the finger as it sinks in the fish tank. Gave me nightmares πŸ˜‚

The tells will remain with the limited amount of poses that genAI can produce but more transparency would always be nice.

Having experience and enjoying the game is condescending haha I love social media 🀣

Combat is deeper than just holding the fire button down. Use infighting and let enemies do their thing as you focus on progression, then clean up the rest.

You do control movement with the mouse as that's how you steer. My point is that steering and aiming are not only equally as important, but are also the same thing.

Movement is also momentum based in these titles, where having inbetween values of the 8 cardinal directions isn't very beneficial.

KB&M is ideal, a controller is a compromise. These old games are too fast where you'd see any benefit of an analog joystick over digital buttons for movement.

And it doesn't matter if you're trying to line your crosshair up with an enemy, or a platform. Movement and precision are one and the same.

Broke. Browsing and reading stories on endless scroll websites trying to find something mildly entertaining.

Woke. Rereading some classic literature (my Goosebumps books from the 90s) where it's banger after banger.

What if you wanted to 440(3/2) but God said 440(2^(7/12)).

Be happy for your community and its successes and focus more on what you can do, not what you think you have to.

MegaSphere's Steam Replay 2025, top 5 games; Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythm Festival. Tekken 8. Halo MCC. Dark Souls Remastered. Sonic X Shadow Generations.

Gotta count for something when your top 5 games in terms of playtime this year are all different genres. I do love variety.

Rhythm,
Fighting,
FPS,
ARPG,
Platformer.

Choice paralysis happens when you don't know what you're looking for.

When you know what you're doing and have a plan, it's nice to have as little friction as possible without your tools misbehaving to let you get on with it.

All my life I've heard,
"Limitations breed creativity",
but I feel more like,
limitations cap ambition.

Being creative and able to think outside the box is nice n all, but sometimes you just wanna make the thing do the thing, without some workaround or compromise.

DDR Arrows render wallpaper by MegaSphere.

A render of mine I did in Blender of DDR arrows. I've been using it as my wallpaper since I made it in 2019, it's clear and vibrant yet doesn't camouflage your icons.

I had actual matches when playing Reflex Arena but I don't think I ever found an active lobby playing this game. At least the stages looked pretty and the remote controlled rockets ala Half Life was cool.

I 100% get that. I got nothing to prove to anybody with my scores in music games. But music is an extension of my sense of self.

Yeah so what that I have PFCs on DDR 18s and a FC on an Oni 10⭐ in Taiko. I have an album coming out soon 😭😭😭.

Examples off the top of my head,

Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 Nemesis take place at the same time.

Half-Life, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift take place at the same time.

Halo 2, and Halo 3 ODST take place at the same time.

It's fascinating to me when something specific gets referred to in a derogatory way enough times for people to realise how useful it is to have a word for it, so it ends up becoming the established term.

See the Noob Combo in Halo, or Brostep in the EDM scene. Boomer Shooter probably qualifies too.

I'd call it a single. I swear CDs would come with the radio version, full version, instrumental, maybe some remixes.

He's such a good musician. I can't even begin to wrap my head around throwing away an entire fanbase for some quick cash, along with the ridiculous email with a whole lotta words and a whole lotta not showcasing any project files.

This is so damn disappointing. He was one of my top artists for a big portion of my life.
