We used to be a real country, that made things.
actually aside from banning them entirely, smart glasses should be forced to look like this, no stealth, no cool
Yes.
What you said. X 2
I hate that I know about human pet guy, and that I know he is a lolcow, and that I know he probably knows that and leans into it, and that I know what a lolcow is
Yeah, owned to heck. Meanwhile we got 80 year old john waters showing what it looks like when you age with a smile on your face being a cool weirdo. bsky.app/profile/danc...

Airport security detected an ancient curse on my best talisman and the only Shaman available doesnt speak Pict. Unbelievable.

I am sorry to inform you that this appears to be real
As Harlan Ellison used to quip: A non informed opinion is a fart in a wind tunnel.
I see Bluesky is shitting its pants again.
The quality of life dropped significantly when companies started using voice menus, instead of actual humans; replacing receptionists, and other phone oriented jobs.
It's where everything went wrong.
As foretold by prophecy, LAPD used their "first responder" drones to spy on No Kings protests and anti-ICE protests: theintercept.com/2026/04/20/l...
Saying "that's preposterous" and "such insolence" in the all-hands meeting when I hear that the team has not been consistently hitting all KPIs
My use case was: I wanted to be able to lie down in bed with my head on a pillow and look straight up/ahead while using a PC or Gaming.
It performs wonderfully for this purpose.
I have an original pair of X Real Air's, and they're great.
They are literally plug and play on my Steam Deck, and work wonderfully. They also take prescription lenses on a bracket, which I have installed on mine.
Re: Smart Glasses.
I own a pair of AR glasses, which I use as a lie down display for my Steam Deck. They're actually pretty nice.
They aren't quite as goofy looking as all these smart glasses, or ye olde Google Glass.
I still wouldn't wear them in public, I have more self respect than that.
It is so funny to see all the tech CEOs coalesce around their little trends. They're like 11-year-old girls with charm bracelets.

Seems to me, that the marketing pushes starting an account. Which is very clearly the point of this device. To share recordings by uploading them.
Is it like a cue cat? Sure. But it's disingenuous to ignore that people have been trained now for years to upload because FREE.
I'm so old I can remember when the right had a full blown meltdown over CENSORSHIP and CANCELLATION when the Dr. Seuss estate pulled a couple of his obscure titles from publication for being real racist
As someone who has been using computers for 40+ years one consistent behavior has always been apparent. How Microsoft ropes people in to vendor lock. This method is unchanged even today, and amounts to Microsoft saying:
"Here's some free crack cocaine. Be sure to tell your friends about me!"
After everything that's occurred on the public Internet in the last 30 or so years...I do not understand how, in 2026, people still aren't looking at privacy policies...or understanding that there is no such thing as a noble company on the Internet. No caution when signing up for a 'free' service.
In March, CAIR-Chicago filed a class-action lawsuit in Illinois state court against the organizations Canary Mission and StopAntisemitism, who have a history of systematically posting the personal information of individuals who engage in pro-Palestine speech.

"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X
The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.
I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).
So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.

Miss me with the typical "well, they wouldn't do that!"...
Because, yes...they would.
"But they're a NON PROFIT!"
So was OpenAI once upon a time.
Seriously people, think before you upload crap to the Internet.
The Internet NEVER forgets. Ever.
