Campfire Audio - what a brand, makes me happy to just support their artistry. From the lush airiness of the Ara, to the perennial spa day of the Clara, the Supermoon is bending my brainfolds now. Feels like moving from 30fps to 60fps… in terms of audio playback. It’s addictive, it bites back.

An architecture for a net zero world: Global climate governance beyond the epoch of failure In the wake of the 2021 Glasgow meeting of the Paris Agreement, where states embedded a 2050 pathway to net zero that will overshoot the Earth's remaining carbon budget for 1.5°C, attention is turnin...

You don’t get rapid phase out with Paris. You need coal, forests, and fossil fuel ban treaties.

i know what you are,
i’m sure of it,
but who am i?
and what will i yet become?

I work in the climate space, and I think of this all the time as the biggest waste in the modern economy that we want to keep ever-expanding.

how's this for a thoughtform: consensus moderation as a reasonable in-between ideological censorship and no filters whatsoever?

My love for the Campfire Audio Ara set has to be proclaimed. There's good sound quality and there's putting your music on a metaphorical stage so it can present itself in a flamboyant performance - that's what the Ara does to music for me. You're not listening to music, you are enraptured within it.

But we ask the younger generations why they do by care to fight for democracy, as if they’ve even seen it in action actually delivering noble well-considered long-term options.

which begs the question where debate about these policy options take place within political parties? To which the answer increasingly seems to me is... nowhere

Ministerial brainwaves are dumped on the world with little debate, just lobbying on the basis of intel & rumours

How we deliver strategic adaptation for emergency resilience Humanity’s failure to halt environmental destruction arises principally from a ‘wicked collective action problem.’ A ‘collective action’ problem is a situation where individuals would benefit from…

"As #climate damage escalates, we risk a vicious cycle where a dwindling pool of resources is sucked into ever-growing reactive adaptation and disaster-recovery costs, and decarbonisation increasingly deprioritised."

What is a reactionary centrist, and does the UK have them? A term favoured by US progressives can help us understand Britain’s drift to the right

It is painful for some - perhaps those of us not on this website - to hear but this article is correct in that there is a form of non-partisan “old-school” centrism that really is the Trojan horse of the toxic far right.

In Europe, this phenomenon is sometimes hidden in technocratic clothes.

Seriously, if someone values high pay per hour with only a few years training, job security for 30+ years, the potential to travel at will, and the feeling you’re contributing to a better world, training as an electrician isn’t a bad strategy.

Trump Administration to Stop Measuring Food Insecurity

I shouldn’t be, but I’m shocked by this. We’ve been measuring food insecurity for 30 years. We have the most comprehensive data in the world. And they’re just cancelling it… so we can’t see that food insecurity continues to rise amidst all the cuts to food assistance. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/20/u...
