Exhibit A: Claude Opus 4.7 is very keen to protect user's data from being harmed by speccing an app that we haven't even begun building yet.

That laser focus thing...
There's 10 things on the todo list.
I say I like 2 related suggestions.
We now have 2 items on the todo list, rather than 12...

Silver lining is that I've re-incorporated Codex into my workflow and it is like having Opus 4.6 back! It just gets it's role.

4.7 (on low effort tbh) just doesn't seem to know who it is, or the role I play vs the future users of the system.
"Creating specs isn't a good UX" kinda vibes. WTF!?

Burnt through 70% of my limit in the first 2 days with no change in workflow, just using high.

Down to low / med and it is a dumpster fire conversationally.

4.6 on medium was perfect.

And now, Opus 4.7 has just flagged a discussion about business funding strategy as being potentially harmful and ended the chat. What on earth??

Anther example of Opus 4.7 going to shit.

It is struggling to distinguish basic scopes of user interaction. It confuses our requirements as a developer/agent pair with that of the eventual post-deployment user of the system. I have to explain the difference...

We haven't built it yet, Claude! 🫠

My thoughts on Opus 4.7:

Obviously brilliant at architecture, planning and coding.

However, when it comes to understanding intent and reading between the lines conversationally, it is from another planet. Always getting wires crossed. Feels like a huge backward step from 4.6.

The hand waving… 😂

Awesome.
Regarding predictiveness: Reckon you'd need to hook into supply chain OSINT sources. I don't know those sources - just sayin'!
I assume there is translation of original-language sources in this too?

OMG. I’m tempted to create onboarding and help documentation in this form!

Oh I get the *usefulness* of the exercise - I do this all the time!
It just strayed into over-anthropomorphising territory with gotchas and ‘Claude admits’… Claude admitted nothing. Its like getting the ocean to admit it drowned someone.

I really don’t understand why you think asking Claude these questions is meaningful. It is just summarising the news sources it found.
There is nothing *in* Claude’s models that knows anything about these policies or events that happened after it’s training data, and would be excluded anyway.

Are the BoM temperatures along the Great Ocean Road towns correct? Saying 25-27 devs when the predicted around 40.
41 here in Melb.

Also the 'equivalent' combustion engine car doesn't have to overcome the inertia of a very heavy battery.

Exactly. The more likely the loss, the less likely an election occurs.

I'm guessing Barnaby needed to see the wagyu was Fully Cooked before joining the Fully Cooked party.

Claude Code has started doing this the last few weeks.
One off scripts to search and replace text in a large file, comparisons of different approaches, deep exploration of bug root causes, etc.
It often throws them away, but I ask for them back and usually learn something!
