It’s Marathon Monday, a local holiday here in Boston. I shall not be working today.

If past is prologue, then the massive gains in productivity will accrue to capital and not labor. Incomes will decline while returns to capital will explode. Absent massive increases to taxes on capital, it’s hard to see how this ends well.

Since private company AI will be generating massive value for shareholders, the only way the govt can send everyone checks is if there is a similarly large tax on capital. I mean, ok.
