Mid March Mid-Atlantic Native Plant Garden update. The winter sown sprouts are sprouting! This is about a 1/4 of this year’s bottles. I’ve done more in the past, but then couldn’t keep up with all the baby plants!

Coral bells are thriving in the front yard. Lance leaved coreopsis, obedient plant, spotted Joe pye weed, and mountain mint all providing some midsummer interest. 💚

New England Aster is starting to bloom; Wingstem is happy but not as tall as last year; Brown eyed susans going wild; Evening Primrose is a volunteer - I saw it was native and decided to let it do its thing - I did not realize it was going to get 8-10 feet tall before blooming!

Oh I totally agree with those two points. And I agreed that this was a baaad campaign for the reasons you mentioned. I don’t think the blame for tribalism rests solely (or even primarily) on coastal/establishment libs/dems. We see which side has not given up on bipartisanship (for better or worse).

Fair. Though “or apathetic” was also included, which is not terribly damning - and that’s imho where the education and influence is more likely to have an actual impact than on the folks who knew full well the hatred, vitriol, and exclusion that their candidate embraces.

They are most certainly *not* economically indistinguishable. The investments in climate and environmental justice communities over the past few years were immense. Not to mention the fact that social and economic are not actually separate spheres (gotta pay for things like healthcare, etc.)

I don’t think the whole premise disintegrates. Yes, a campaign that fails to meet previous turnout levels merits criticism, but David’s point about the need for cultural change is still valid. Otherwise we’re still stuck at about 50-50 where relatively small shifts in turnout have drastic impacts.

Dunno. I was never a big fan of twitter so this isn’t really my kind of thing anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
