Age limits 100%
Term limits might worsen the gerontocracy is some ways. A 60-year old wouldn’t care if there’s a 20-year term limit. They live the rest of their life as a politician. There’s no reason to get rid of a popular, competent 45-year old congressman because they’ve hit their limit.

Since 2015, Mike Clevinger is one of two players MLB probed under its domestic violence policy but didn't suspend. His ex-fiancée says MLB enabled the former star to keep harassing her, including this call where she says he threatened her.

I don’t know what Mary is talking about, but the weirdest reactions I’ve seen to Pragmata is one of the Pragmata subreddits getting banned for being a hub for pedophiles.
absolutely wild that even with like D+30 we cannot get to a filibuster proof majority, let alone an impeach and remove one. christ I hate the senate.

This is a solid top 10 action/adventure games ever. The problem with a top 10 of anything is the list is too small. Too many genres get overlooked.
“1000 Movies to See Before You Die” had the right idea. You get to cover the history of the medium, get every big game, and older/lesser knowns too.
Looking at the list, recency bias isn’t a big issue. Otherwise, Resident Evil 4 Remake would’ve been picked instead of the original.
...to be any overlap between boys and girls toys. It forces families with >= 1 boy and >= 1 girl to double dip to buy both boys and girls toys. Disney might be thinking the same thing. They don't want boys to want Princess toys, they want boys to buy Cars toys.
This is potentially similar to what happened to Young Justice. The show was popular with both boys and girls. Girls wanted to buy Young Justice toys despite Young Justice toys being marketed towards boys. The show was cancelled after two seasons because toy companies didn't and don't want there...
Ahhh, thanks
Who is stoolepresidente?
Lotta men getting emotional and angry over at the bad place about this post
It is both simultaneously true that Hasan Piker is an asshole shock jock whose influence on politics is pretty poisonous and also that he is getting so much attention specifically because the American media-political sphere tolerates provocation and transgression from the Right and not the Left.
NYTimes Headline: The Women Who Believe That Women Should Lose the Right to Vote Subhead: Adherents to biblical patriarchy support household voting: One household, one vote--the husband's. They say the idea is catching on.
The New York Times rolling up its sleeves to do the hard work of normalizing the idea that women should not have the right to vote.
Really cool how the NYT insists that Zohran Mamdani saying Israel should “exist as a state with equal rights” means he’s gonna turn the Battery into Bełzec any day now while a bunch of bona fide Hitlerjugend get to Name The Jew and it just means they have some questions about the Israel lobby
Online leftists: It's just a bunch of wine moms. They aren't doing enough.
Media: Bunch of wine moms. It's ineffective.
Meanwhile: Wine moms out there creating community, gathering people together, exposing them to other orgs, giving them opportunities to hear about new ideas. Holding it down.
There isn't enough housing available — and outdated laws make it difficult and expensive to build more.
The Building Up Illinois Developments plan would eliminate unnecessary barriers to housing construction and close financing gaps for housing of all kinds.
A member of an offshoot of the Jewish Defense League — designated by the FBI as a "known violent extremist organization" — was allegedly building explosive devices to target the home of Nerdeen Kiswani in a chilling act of political violence. The defendant reportedly planned to flee to Israel following the attack. This comes amid an alarming rise in threats and violence across the country targeting Palestinian human rights advocates. I am thankful that the NYPD and FBI thwarted this plot, which could have endangered Nerdeen’s life and those of other New Yorkers. Let me be clear: We will not tolerate violent extremism in our city. No one should face violence for their political beliefs or their advocacy. I am relieved that Nerdeen is safe. Our city must meet hate with solidarity, and meet fear with an unshakable commitment to justice and to one another.
as an outsider looking in, what this looks like to me is unscrupulous partisans leveraging norms of academic collegiality to do hack work, and then getting the vapors when people point out, correctly, that theirs is hack work
One of the victims is an elderly Palestinian man who was beaten with clubs by settlers who attacked his home in an attempt to set it on fire, leaving him with severe head and facial fractures. He is now in critical condition.
Epstein did that by funding weirdo academics to inflate his sense of intelligence. He didn’t go around telling people he did 9/11.
What the fuck Epstein files have you been looking at?
👋🏼 I’m the better choice!
I’m sure it’s just an out of season April Fool’s joke from Liz and Dave. Right? Right?
What a horrible thing to wake up to.
We need to talk about Andrew Callaghan 🚨

Oh, don’t get me wrong, she was a piece of shit and there are examples of female baronesses doing stuff closer to what Bathory allegedly did. For example, Darya Nikolayevna Saltykova.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darya_N...
Also, Bathory’s arrest was likely politically motivated. She, like many other aristocrats, treated her serfs poorly, but not remotely close to the degree that is alleged.
There’s a lot of moving parts to this, but one factor at least for powerful women under-44 is they don’t want to risk pregnancy. This might dampen the numbers of rapey women in general. A woman in power has more to lose becoming pregnant committing rape than a man does impregnating a victim.
