I am confident that one day we will have SkyTrain to UBC and gondola to SFU. We need to band together and fight for funding, and elect leaders who make them a priority.
If you care about these things, then @movementyvr.bsky.social is for you.

A BC Government FOI invoice dated April 1, 2026, charging $90.00 for a Freedom of Information request (ID: MSD-2026-6) seeking BC Bus Pass Program records on annual costs, registrant numbers, and program uptake rates broken down by regional district and demographic groups including low-income, senior, disabled, and Indigenous residents, covering data from January 2016 to March 2026.
We were debating whether to give up or scale down this Freedom of Information request,
but then we thought, why not turn it into a fundraiser?

Are you willing to chip in to cover the cost of this FOI request (and all the other awesome stuff we do)?
What if we boarded via the emergency ventilation windows instead...
i was laughing the entire time i was watching this, this is a banger
Single-door boarding on SkyTrain starts today.
What do you think about the new service change?
woof woot wooooof wooot or something, idk
"TransLink and partners have identified a single alignment and proposed station
locations on the North Shore and in south Burnaby and are advancing the design and evaluation of two alternative alignments in north Burnaby" (p. 106 of translink's march 25, 2026 board meeting)
i mean that's just the R2, the BRT routing has not been decided yet (according to the latest meeting minutes)
how so?
apparently they'll be around for a good while longer, perhaps even into 2027
replacements aren't arriving anytime soon from what i've heard
if you replace it with 9 to ubc all day every season and make 44 all day every day, it'll be fine (but apparently 14 removal was unpopular during the survey they did)
you might force a transfer or two for those looking to go along hastings, but i doubt there are much people doing that anyways
ask me things :3

Row from a spreadsheet that lists the motion 'Taking Urgent Action to Boost Street Capacity and Speed Up Transit Service for Vancouverites' with the recommendation 'Postpone - staff recommends that work be completed on the first five bus corridors, before initiating signifiant work on next four.' The final column lists rational 'Reprioritisation of staff resources, advisability of evaluating outcomes of the first five corridors before investing in work on the next four corridors'
Motion text which outlines the 9 approved bus lane routes. The first five are Granville Street, Southeast Marine Drive, 49th Avenue, Hastings Street, and Main Street/Kingsway. The additional 4 are Broadway, King Edward, West 4th, and Downtown to the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge
BUS LANES: There were 9 bus lane corridors promised in this unanimously passed motion from @christineboyle.bsky.social back in summer 2024, with implementation at a rate of at least 2 corridors per year. New recommendation is to postpone 4 of these (which we'll note are already off schedule)

There are a million transit riders in Metro Vancouver and we deserve better than to be stuck waiting in traffic and waiting for action.
This article from our volunteer @michaelhall.bsky.social is as relevant as ever!

We've been waiting YEARS for a single new bus lane. They aren't expensive, they just need signs and paint, and they could be delivered in a matter of days if they were a priority.
Disappointed but not surprised to see that the 2023 bus priority motion from @sarahkirbyyung.bsky.social has been scaled back and the 2024 bus priority motion from @christineboyle.bsky.social has been postponed.
i think you *might* be gay
Transportation can make or break the experience for people visiting Vancouver for the first time. To avoid gridlock, we need transit to be the convenient and comfortable choice.

We’re just 100 days out from FIFA. What does the @cityofvancouver.bsky.social need to do to prepare for the influx of tourism and travel demand headed to the city soon?
