Not the first time this is happening - any platform that was considered trustworthy by the search engines at some point was getting manipulated one way or another.

To clarify: the complaints are filed as DMCA but the actual text of complaints does not refer to any copyright violation but only to the fact this kind of content is illegal
Observing something pretty interesting. Non-English SERPs, a country where online gambling sites are illegal, the actual complaints submitted are (incorrectly filed) DMCA complaints, filed very recently, think few days, and the impact is in the SERPs already
We do realise this goes both ways, right?
Interesting, the previous Google spam update was all the way back in December 2024 and only took a week to fully roll out - this time, it's supposed to take a few weeks
