Brexit and the British Government's acceptance of it has directly led to Scotland losing out big style. Not least in agriculture, as @calumkerr.bsky.social discusses with local farmers and the First Minister...

📸 And an outstanding visit to a local farm with @calumkerr.bsky.social in Peebles.
For my local youth, Scotland’s future starts here: with the new Peebles High School. @calumkerr.bsky.social took a tour to see what this latest SNP Scottish Government investment has produced.
I've seen it myself - impressive! A great resource for students - and the community.

Great to see my local SNP candidate for Holyrood @calumkerr.bsky.social across in Hamilton helping the great @katyloudonsnp.bsky.social in her campaign to represent the people of Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse.

Unlike some parties, in The SNP it's local branch members who decide the candidate they want. That means we get people like @calumkerr.bsky.social - who care about our communities, not when the next plane back to London is leaving.

A great win for Peebles at the Selkirk U16 7s yesterday. A fantastic, well run tournament (including great catering) saw Peebles edge a thrilling final against the hosts 26-19. Well done to the Peebles boys, the other players, the officials and everyone involved.
Important to note, following her endorsement of me in the selection contest to be her successor, that Christine Grahame still has a year as our MSP, and it's very much business as usual! 👇
Honoured to receive Christine's endorsement. With my parliamentary experience as an MP and Shadow Minister, combined with over 25 years in business and 14 years as a voluntary Charity director, I'm ready to help lead Scotland forward during these challenging post-Brexit times.

Back on Twitter this was one of my most re-posted tweets. Back before Space Karen got his hands on it and my tweets got muted by his algorithm changes.

Great news for the Borders. From my own experience Christine has been a great MSP and it would be fantastic to benefit from Calum's skills and experience in Holyrood and locally 👍

Honoured to receive David Black's endorsement in Penicuik!
As former branch Convenor for 9 years, his recognition of my community work & independence commitment means a lot. Grateful for his support in my SNP candidate bid for Midlothian South, Tweeddale & Lauderdale.

The best of luck Calum with the hustings. It would be great to see you back and representing us again, albeit from Holyrood. We also greatly appreciate your support to keep Channelkirk and six other nurseries open. Ideally we could help reopen some of the other 35 across Scotland closed illegally.
I'm grateful to Simon for his endorsement for me to be the SNP candidate for MSTL in 2026.
Simon worked for Christine Grahame for years, including when I was an MP and she shared my parliamentaey office in Gala. He's passionate about indy and building a better Scotland.

Proud to be in the SNP process for Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale.
With deep local roots and parliamentary experience, I offer both local understanding and national perspective.
The 2026 Holyrood election is critical for Scotland's future and independence.

I'm delighted to announce I've secured nomination from all three nominating branches to go forward into the SNP candidate selection process for the Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale seat for the 2026 Holyrood election. 🏴 #SNP #Holyrood2026

Great to join a group of activists from Penicuik SNP today. We were campaigning on the NHS, highlighting the investment and priorities announced in the recent SNP Scottish Government budget.
A fantastic evening at the Tweeddale Burns Supper in Eddleston on Friday! Proud to follow @johnswinney.bsky.social Immortal Memory, with my Toast to the Lassies. Superb reply from @mareetodd.bsky.social, and our formidable local MSP Christine Grahame gave the Toast to Scotland.
Back from attending a moving, fitting Memorial Service for Alex Salmond.
A favourite saying of his was that independence was not a lost cause but a cause as yet unwon. On this day the best and enduring tribute which I feel we can pay to him is our collective rededication to winning that prize.
Nice out there, if fresh, in our Glasgow office today.
It was great to be out in Kelso on Saturday campaigning for independence with Believe in Scotland, along with Councillor Fay Sinclair and many other like-minded folk.
Eek, that doesn't sound pleasant!
Why, thank you. I'm manically busy at the moment, but well. How's you?
The stripe on the England rugby strip reminds me of my carpet in the late 80s ..
In modern usage, particularly in Scottish dialects, it has evolved to /ˈhɒliruːd/ or /ˈhɑːliruːd/, leading to the common mispronunciation as "Hollyrood" instead of the more traditional "holy-rood" 126. This reflects regional variations in pronunciation and the influence of local speech patterns.
I asked Perplexity AI: The pronunciation of "Holyrood" as "Hollyrood" stems from its historical and linguistic roots. The name is derived from Old English "holy rood," meaning "holy cross," which was pronounced differently in earlier forms of English.
Someone just made a point to me in Peebles rugby club - people pronounce Holyrood (Scottish Parliament) as Hollyrood. why is that? Should it not be pronounced holy-rood?
