expect some new crazy stuff once i finally get my bearings straight once and for all
2026 is looking rly great so far
(in all seriousness this is prolly related to me switching locations but that seems absurd bcs it's in a city i lived in before - also before anyone asks, yes i got my account back)
My own Discord message sent at 17:08 reads "dump of videos from yt recommendations w thumbnails that look like ai slop" and contains screenshots of 4 YT videos that all have noticeably AI slop thumbnails in them. The first video's thumbnail is one that isn't even the correct resolution for a thumbnail and has a questionable-looking Windows 10 logo. The second video's thumbnail that is cut off on the top and bottom has a woman pointing at a laptop running "Linux Mint" - obviously not real-looking The third video's thumbnail depicts a Windows "11" taskbar on the bottom but the Windows logo is the Windows 8-10 logo and the other icons are just plain cursed The last video's thumbnail has a Linux logo that also doesn't seem to be the real one
A Discord system message DM also from 17:08 informs that my account was limited from access to some features until 2 hours later on the same day
A Discord email informing me that my account was disabled for "suspicious activity"
discord's AI flagging my account after posting screenshots of 4 random vids with thumbnails that scream AI slop is crazy

Screenshot showing the directory of the Microsoft Copilot app located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Copilot\Application, it's entirely based off the Microsoft Edge browser that's based off the Google Chromium source.
You may have seen apps built with Electron or Microsoft Edge WebView2.
But... have you seen an app that's just entirely based off the Microsoft Edge Chromium web browser?
That's some crazy work lol.
made the switch to the linux-lts kernel
certainly the perfect choice for someone like me who uses vmware on linux not-so-infrequently

a folder of google apps, inside which are Google Maps, News, Drive, Translate, Gmail, Authenticator, Play Store, YouTube, Chrome, Google. Translate's icon is blue and gray, non-Material You, the rest are Material You icons (this blue shade and black)
the year is 2026.
a majority of google's apps have had Material You icons for a while now
Google Translate still doesnt have one...

Green and a little red aurora behind a barn

Whispy Aurora above a snow bank
Hi, Aurora!
another reminder for me that maybe laptop lids shouldn't be closed too often unless I have to, based on previous experiences with past main laptops
(of which hinges broke after 3 years of almost constant daily lid opening-closing from the time i got them)
Bottom of an HP laptop around where the left hinge is (the right side in this POV)
yeeep the hinge of one of my spare laptops (in fact the one i previously used for archives, now its just random experiments) is starting to bite the dust there
In the left, Step 3 of GitHub's "checkout via the command line" instructions tells to run "git merge mdelta_N" ("mdelta_N" being the name of the base branch in this context). In the right is a partial terminal log, where it indicates I switched to a new branch "kayaurora" that tracks "origin/kayaurora", from which I wanna merge changes into mdelta_N. Trying to merge into mdelta_N, Git outputs "mdelta_N - not something we can merge Did you mean this? origin/mdelta_N" Basically the correct command is not what GitHub's own instructions say, but what Git's output actually says.
when instructions dont match reality

A Computer Clan Twitter quote retweet saying: This is another huge win for real artists! AI-generated art cannot be copyrighted in the U.S. I'm no lawyer, and I'm certainly not political, so I'm taking this with a grain of salt. I don't know what might change in the future, but any victory over AI "art" is good in my book. Real art is made by humans, not machines! And to the folks who use AI to create "art" I encourage you to use real artistic tools, whether digital or physical. Try and make something real! You're more capable than you think, and you'll feel better about what you make. Trust me.
From my Twitter. This is another huge win for real artists.
ALSO the weather is rlly nice outside today (which it hasnt been for a while) its making me motivated to actually work on smth for once -w-
