Got to see the movie The Secret Agent last night, slightly belated UK release. Superb, and wonderfully evocative of the period, though some aspects of the plot left me slightly baffled (probably deliberately).

In addition for every other valid reason not to get ChatGPT to do your journal peer reviews for you I heard today the argument that once you load an article into the programme it will become part of the training data set and you are thereby complicit in violating the author’s copyright.

I honestly don’t understand the drama with the DFG and AI: do you really think Gutachter didn’t have ways to be bad Gutachter before? And wouldn‘t be absurd to have the DFG simply ban AI when so many of us use it daily, if only for DeepL? I think it’s much better to have guidelines than a ban
