I’m going to try and post every day until I get a World Book Day booking, let’s see if it works!
I am a children’s author with ADHD who LOVES doing super energetic events. If you haven’t got a writer for World Book Day for you school, please get in touch as I’m happy to travel all over for events.

A graphic in a greenish colour about the National Literacy Trust Primary Conference 2026. On the right we see three girls of about 8, two white, one Black, all sitting on beanbags and looking at an e-reader while one of them clutches a print book. The conference is on the 20th March at The British Library. It's called Beyond the book: Routes into reading. The graphic also has my name and job on: Louie Stowell, Children's author
To celebrate the #NationalYearOfReading2026, I'm speaking at the @literacy-trust.bsky.social annual primary conference at the @britishlibrary.bsky.social. It's on 20th March 26, book here: literacytrust.org.uk/events/prima...

Doing a PhD means begging for money, like all the time. 🥲🫶🏾
Learning new platforms is annoying, but I guarantee you it is worth it because you don't want to depend on any single one of these apps/sites. It's inevitable that they will try and shut down one thing or the other but if we are flexible, we can stay a step ahead. Digital ungovernability, y'all-
Thanks for boosting lovely 💖
It’s that time of year again! I can’t wait to meet as many kids as possible during this World Book Month 🥰💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I’m fully booked from the 4th-10th of March but I am offering discounted rates for March visits outside those dates ☺️✌🏾✨
remember stuff like this when they tell you that diversity means a lowering of standards
I feel that the SAME specific energy used used to draw from Orisa Goddesses, Yoruba goddesses who were depicted as darkskin Yoruba women which informs the entire basis of the story should be the SAME energy that is used to cast accurately.
As a Yoruba woman who also draws from Yoruba mythology in her writing, it is disappointed to see ZERO Yoruba women casted. And before we talk about it being so difficult to find specifically Yoruba women, they managed just fine with our men. Which smells of misogynoir.
I can already hear the wakanda accent from the Children of Blood and Bone movie. I love how they managed to find multiple Yoruba men but somehow we are going to have Amandla Stenberg representing Yoruba women?)
The reviews for Kòkú always melt my heart 😭🫶🏾
🥹🫶🏾 please let me know what you think!!!!
You’re my favourite type of human! It’s a sci-fi involving Black university students and time travel 🥰 but here’s a link to my newest book out now:

Just finished a chapter, I’ve been stuck for two weeks so this is a big deal. Next up, my characters are almost going to die (again🥰👌🏾)
Give banned books for holiday gifts this year.
I would love to join this collective btw if it’s happening!
Thank you! It’s getting ridiculous but that’s how I like my books
My new book is like 99% shenanigans, I think I may need to add more
Back on this app, after a little mental health break 🥰💕 my edges have grown in and my loc fringe has grown quite a bit, what else is new?
Just started a PhD in African Art and I’m using it as an opportunity to explore African British culture in more depth. Would love to connect with Black people in the heritage space across the diaspora🥰🙏🏾 #AddToBlacksky
You seem so cool!!! I just started a PhD in African Art at the University of Birmingham, I’m doing a cultural exploration of the diasporic experience of British Yorubas when they encounter their art in UK museums. I would love to talk PhD stuff 🙏🏾💕
Where is the Blacksky option? I would like to opt in pls😭🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love my Oriki name so much - Ayinke means born to be pampered and it suits me SO well.
Does anyone else have an Oriki name or a special cultural name that’s important to them?
Well I like seeing nice stuff so still happy for you!
According to a school in Leicestershire that’s trying to book me, I’m a successful author soooo im running with that 🥰👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
This makes me feel so cosy, I can smell spicy stew bubbling and hear my siblings yelling my name to look at them do something stupid. 😭🫶🏾
