I’m writing a new 10k short story.
Naturally, 3,000 words in, I’ve finished about 5% of the story in my head 😬
I got to my flight’s gate 3 hours early in Atlanta.
Not today, Satan!
Author Justin Key discusses his book, 'The Hospital at the End of the World.' He'll further talk about the novel during Unbound Book Festival's "Out There Screaming": New Black Horror panel.
#medlibs for those who might be curating medical humanities collections 👀
Tomorrow! 630pm. Gwinnett Library in Duluth!
I’ve had a few readers/reviewers comment ‘this doesn’t read like a first novel’ (implying that The Hospital at the End of the World reads like I know what I’m doing) and it’s the praise I didn’t know I needed!
I worked hard! And it shows!
…and yes, I have like 5 novels in my trunk 🤣 👀

The Hospital at the End of the World by Justin C. Key
An interesting sci-fi medical thriller set in the near future where all but one hospital in the country is controlled by AI.

Want your readers to feel the realities of life-and-death situations? Take them through life as a student doctor. @crimereads.bsky.social
I love having "We Interrupt This Program" be both a "hilarious and heartfelt" pop culture fantasy AND a cozy mystery thriller. I'll take all the genres at once!
See what they had to say -- and what other books (including titles from @justinkey.bsky.social & #KirstenKaschock ) go with "Interrupt"!
