A glorious family walk in the Forest of Dean yesterday. We did the Lower Soudley and Soudley Ponds Circular. Pretty painful carrying young un up steep banks with already blistered feet, but it was worth it for the views.

On Friday, the Midlife Crisis Walking Club completed a 22.5 mile walk from Ledbury to Worcester, including the Ledmal 3 route from @slowwaysuk.bsky.social and the St Wulfstan Day Way pilgrimage from Malvern Priory to Worcester Cathedral. We all had a lovely time apart from the blisters.

We all loved it. A great walk. Cheers!

That's it. One of them is a fire fighter and another a police officer and we all have young kids, so pretty stressed. We had a long time to chat about life, have a laugh and feel like we'd accomplished something. Also good to have these things pencilled in to look forward to. Worcester next.

On Saturday, me and a few mates walked a muddy but glorious 17 miles from Ledbury to Hereford along the Herled Two route from @slowwaysuk.bsky.social. A superb day out. Highly recommend getting your friends out for this sort of thing.

He's definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place with it, but the best choice was to go with what was right for the party rather than looking even more weak.

Starmer you fucking bottle job. Your only chance of keeping that seat and a bloke that makes your sinking ship of a government slightly more appealing to voters. We had 14 years of self-serving twats leading the country and people got sick of it. Here we are again.

A random afternoon of phone box museums, Neolithic tombs, trig points and the steepest hill I've ever walked on. Nearly dying in glorious Herefordshire.

Forgot to share our picture with Bertie in Amroth on our leg of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path last weekend. Young un Molly will hopefully grow up with a love for the countryside and the planet. I'm carrying her around enough of it FFS. #CleanSeas

Yeah I'm on the train to FAW. Lost the love a bit and not overly optimistic, but it's my first game of the season and I'm looking forward to getting back to it and catching up with people.

I don't go on Twitter as much anymore and when I do I often end up having to stop myself engaging with all the bollocks, because life's too short and I just end up getting irritated by the opinions of idiots that I don't even know.

Social media and clickbait news stories are turning people into paranoid, irrational, obsessive divs. My uncle basically sits at home all day watching GB News and is scared to leave rural Herefordshire because he thinks he's going to get stabbed if he goes anywhere else.

Just checking back in and this is one of the most recent posts on my timeline. It looks dead unfortunately.

I was allowed to do this because my wife is away this weekend in Portugal and it's just me and young un at home. It's class, but definitely more stressful than last weekend. Although at least I don't have to worry about being trampled in my sleep by a pony that had been staring me out for an hour.

Last weekend I enjoyed 24 hours of peace and fresh air with a solo 23 mile walk from Hay-on-Wye to Abergavenny. I followed some of the Offa's Dyke Trail and the Beacons Way with a camp amongst the wild ponies at 600m on the Hatterall Ridge...

And, have you already done something good for yourself today? Fresh air, stress reduction, lowering blood pressure, increasing the production of the body's own killer cells (T cells) through terpenes? Go to the forest and if you don't believe science, the forest will convince you

Does it get any better than that? I certainly hope so.

WE WON!

The Supreme Court has upheld the right to wild camp on Dartmoor. This is a huge win for access to nature.

But we're just getting started.

It was never just about Dartmoor.

We’re fighting to extend the right to roam, swim, and sleep under the stars - across all of England.

Wild camping on Dartmoor is legal, supreme court rules Case came to supreme court after court of appeal determined the term ‘open-air recreation’ included camping

So delighted by this news!! Supreme Court rules that the stars are for everyone ✨ Huge congratulations to @righttoroam.bsky.social 👏🎉 Now Government must urgently pass a comprehensive Right to Roam Act, to protect & extend public rights of responsible access to nature across England

I asked my wife what she thought of it before I told her what I'd replaced the prosecco with and she said it was pretty nice. It did the job, but I can't see it becoming a thing.

A good weekend. Drinks in Hereford, the first world problem of having to make Aperol Spritz with Stowford Press instead of prosecco, a class walk on the beautiful/strange place that is Hergest Ridge, and a barbeque with horse riding. These are largely Tory shenanigans for sure, but it was decent.

We are big time fucked.

For sure. Burton have a couple of very winnable home games and we don't have the goals in us to beat the better sides now. If we lose or draw today it's game over I reckon.

I've got a bad feeling about Rovers today and it's a must win or we're fucked. Looking forward to it. 🥴

Dartmoor again. Legal wild camping definitely feels a lot more chilled than hiding in the depths of the woods hoping some Karen dog walker doesn't see you and report you. This is magic. #RightToRoam

An epic day in Dartmoor introducing young un to more of Britain's glorious countryside. My back and feet aren't feeling the love though. #RightToRoam #Devon
