just always say "AT Protocol" or alternatively adopt gen z grammar and capitalize nothing

no, if anyone's wrong, it's likely me
I'm not a security person just a concerned individual
sure these details can get ironed out, but I thought it was important to call out

imagine a future in which everything you interact with on the web uses atproto
it might make it more enticing for an attacker to obtain your session because they can now write records across different sites on your PDS

unlike our more centralized reality today, threats are... centralized

if someone hijacks your session you're done for

fun fact, right now if you look up @github.com copilot pricing the page returns an http 500 error due to what seem like some zod errors. I guess @microsoft.com doesn't want my money after all

wonder if I could pick @redsolver.dev's brain on how index, backfill, and requests work under-the-hood

in all likelihood though, it's back to days of reading docs and source code 🥲

honest to god, I feel like I need a phd to understand and implement a custom feed… not keen on using the template repo (it seems old and bloated to me)

already using @skyfeed.app and it works, but it's missing some needed filtering options (plus our use-case requires search—no good api for that)

really I was only interested in exploring self-hosting since I have an idea for an atproto project that might require it, but that's a story for another day

it could've worked, but with much effort no doubt

in hindsight it would've made more sense to use a subdomain… I just don't think the effort of self-hosting was worth it for me (don't get me started on email verification)

the painless approach is fine for now, maybe I can try again in the future

joined bluesky last month and tried self-hosting a single-user pds… I'd HIGHLY discourage anyone from doing the same

at least when using one apex domain for pds, handle, and website (it was more of a headache than I think it was worth)

maybe it's an unreasonable ask but that's my ocd for you
