Early playtests are for quickly figuring out if a mechanic is worth keeping and expanding or just tossing. You can theorize about design all you want but nothing beats people actually having fun, so even if it's imperfect I'd rather get that out than polish something that ultimately gets trashed

This is an interesting idea. I make mostly cute and colorful art because I wasn't exposed to that growing up, so it's a challenge to create it. It's nice how challenging ourselves can aid the artistic process :D
