I didn't know they had metric ones, I need those! I'm a total metric convert, but so far I can only reason about sizes up to about 250mm since that's how big you can print on most printers. Past that it's still feet and inches

Also infodumping about calipers:

The cheap ones can only detect relative change which is why they don't have absolute zero. But that means they always have that circuit on, so they can turn on when you open them. The power button just turns the screen off which is why their battery is always dead

There's also a fourth way to measure with calipers called the step gauge, I never realized it until I read about it. Using the back of them you can measure the step height of an object against a surface, it's a lot easier than trying to do the depth measurement

They at least finally added an option in Windows 11 to do inverted mouse scrolling, up until this year I believe, you had to do a registry tweak

windows: spend an hour googling and opening 5 different crusty GUI apps from the 90s

unix: $ echo 'export foo="bar"' >> ~/.bashrc

Fox host says he 'hasn't washed hands in 10 years' - BBC News Harvard and Princeton graduate Pete Hegseth says germs don't exist because he can't see them.

Don't forget that he also does not wash his hands because "germs are not a real thing"

ballotproof/generate.py at master · DevrathIyer/ballotproof Contribute to DevrathIyer/ballotproof development by creating an account on GitHub.

Ballotproof is basically just a student project, the generate.py script is not even 150 lines of code. A decent programmer could write a similar script in less than a day. There really is nothing very technically interesting or sophisticated there
