We said at the beginning of the season that if the Ducks hit 90pts we would do the Hot Ones run. Well they hit 90 last night, but it was a losing effort and a moral victory.
Tonight they clinched a birth in the 2026 playoffs, and much more in the spirit of the bet.

Awesome of Derek to ask this question. The answer isn’t nearly specific enough, though. I want to know what are the initiatives and organizations he’s working with.

Pat Verbeek better fucking hope with all his heart that he and Q can show some amount of actual tangible work that Joel is doing with survivor groups in Orange County or they're both going to be out on their ass.
and that is to say nothing of the fact that said personal growth was the result of SOMEONE ELSE'S pain and suffering. and the amount of care and respect for that fact that Quenneville has shown in regards to that pain is all but fuckin zero thus far.
Its day 1 of training camp. this day has been on the calendar for months, and Q was completely unprepared for the moment. that is not something that inspires much confidence in the tales we were told of his personal growth on this topic.
When Q was hired Verbeek and Henry Samueli went out of their way to assure everyone that due diligence was done and expectations were made clear in terms of what Quenneville had and would continue to do in regards to working with sexual assault survivors groups.
where is any of that now?
Even more concerning that McTavish not being signed is going to be a bigger story than Joel Quenneville not being able to name a single survivors advocacy group in Southern California despite having all simmer to do something as simple as take a meeting, got to a luncheon, or just use google.
Not a great start to the season that the GM and HC were both asked pretty basic questions and neither of them were capable of providing a satisfactory answer.
