Hi I wrote about the making of classic platformerChuckie Egg and talked to its creator Nigel Alderton. Please give it a read as I want to show there’s an audience for this gaming history stuff 🙏

Voting Reform is the equivalent of voting twice for Trump.
It is an act of pure ignorance, or racism, or both.
And, as we all know, it leads nowhere good.
Please god UK. Do not let that happen. Learn from our mistakes. Learn from America’s mistakes.
Just get your shit together.

Rock outcrop in The Roaches with a youth on top electing to walk away from the sheer drop
Chonky mama sheep grazing next to a gangly lamb with black feet, ears and nose
Weathered signpost pointing to The Roaches main path, and an ice cream van on the side of the road shamelessly robbing hikers
Climbed some big rocks. Saw some cute lambs. Bought some criminally priced ice cream.
Bunch of excellent folks. Sub calls emerge from the bin regularly too, go have a rummage: trashcatlit.com

I am having a HORSESHIT 2026 Amy
Handsome old ginger cat Oscar hopping up on the doorstep and sticking his tongue out at the camera, just a few months ago
This year is just relentless.
Rest easy, Oscar. It's going to take some time to make sense of a world without this sweet-natured old soul in it.
An embroidery hoop containing a sewn aerial view landscape. It depicts an apple orchard in bloom in the centre, allotments to the left and sheep in their field at the bottom. Train tracks go past the top of the orchard and allotment.
Sewn train tracks past an apple orchard (to the left).
An angled view of a sewn vegetable allotment surrounded by rough land, trees and with train tracks to the left.
An angled view of embroidered bushes and paths going through them leading to an orchard, allotment and fields.
'A simple (perfect) life' - my spring landscape is finally finished! An apple orchard in bloom, old railway, sheep with their lambs and an allotment being prepared for growing :) Zoom in to see all the other tiny details too... I think this might be my favourite aerial embroidery I've ever done!
I like it when you complete a level in Sonic Chaos and it sounds like he died peacefully in his sleep.
Electricity pylon standing in a field against a bright blue sky with aesthetically pleasing clouds all swirling around and that
Two ducks on a canal path, strutting away like divas from my offering of out-of-date bread, not pictured
Canal boat with some sort of swivel-eyed gargoyle or red dragon made of tyres on the front, I took a picture and did not question it
Blue skies and sunshine? On a bank holiday? In this economy?
I knew Digi would get a shout out, but Planet Sound! Legends. They once published my Top 10 Yazoo Songs despite that information being of zero use to a single person.
Absolutely horrifying. Must play. And I assume the bloke doing the VO isn't Gerard Butler but they should definitely tap him up for the adaptation.
Tacoma is a great shout for the isolated-on-a-space-station human perspective. Love that game.
Cheeky young black cat sitting like a roast chicken on top of a new toy that he's unhelpfully not letting anyone open
Celebratory #Caturday pic of returning wanderer Void Baby. I don't even mind that he's gone straight back to cacking under the bed as long as he doesn't despawn in the middle of the night and traumatise us all over again.
There is absolutely some ammo down that ladder next to the diagonal one, with an invisible wall blocking it off at ground level
A week since my first wee publication of 2026: 100 words about a creepy whirlpool in the #SciFanSat 'Spiral' issue. Loads of good stuff in here. Give it a whirl! Take it for a spin! Go round and have a look! Etc.
Only just read this. Beautiful story. Congrats!
Off out to mow the back lawn, see you all on the other side

Literal treasure. Still remember buying Flight from the Dark, my mate buying Fire on the Water and both of us sitting in the newsagent's doorway to read them, cheerfully getting in everyone's way.
Whatever AI offers you, it took from someone else. That alone is a disqualification. But if you go ahead and use it, you have no idea of the extent of the lift and if it's uncovered, you'll be liable

12 days after going missing, 10 days after a traumatic failed rescue attempt from a railway embankment, Void Baby has finally made it back home to us (and his largely unimpressed mum).
I have felt All The Emotions. Hug your pets, folks. Came within a hair's breadth of never seeing this lad again.

Aftermath making an irrefutable point that should be relentlessly blasted at companies who (supposedly) make products for consumers to enjoy: Three years in, what can you really say that AI has added to your products that consumers actually like? At what point is it time to audit the magic beans?
