After canceling meeting of independent advisers, FDA issues 2025-26 flu vaccine recommendations | CNN The US Food and Drug Administration on Thursday issued recommendations for the composition of influenza shots for the upcoming respiratory virus season, but without input from its independent vaccine ...

In case you, like me, are a high-anxiety human who missed this piece of moderately reassuring news:

Despite many broken things, the FDA *did* make a flu shot recommendation for this fall.

For decades, a doctor refused to charge patients who couldn't pay. When he couldn't pay, his patients came to his aid. When Dr. Michael Zollicoffer was diagnosed with two types of cancer, his patients started a crowdfunding campaign that raised more than $100,000.

A doctor has been serving one of Baltimore’s poorest neighborhoods for decades — and if his patients can’t pay, that’s OK with him.

So when he was diagnosed with cancer, his community rallied to raise $100,000 for his treatments.

My daughter's daycare just sent out an email about potentially needing to layoff staff because new babies about to start withdrew because of parental job losses. So if you're wondering how government layoffs and mass contract cancellations will affect the economy, here's an example

It’s a systemic issue. As a woman in med school, I believe wellness, compassion, and addressing the mental health challenges of female physicians must begin at the med school level. We need to prioritize this from the start.

Happy to! I'd be interested in reading the book if you don't mind sharing the title 🙂

There’s a lot to explore in how music works as active medicine, not just via passive listening—especially w/ the physiological changes I’ve seen in cancer patients. My research is now exploring long-term healing.

For anyone following #AI, #Ethics, and #Medicine-- this will raise important questions about the role of innovation in healthcare, particularly around liability, if it passes.

Incredible! Interdisciplinary team led by Dr. Said performs open-heart surgery on newborn during c-section. Procedure is called ex-utero intrapartum treatment (EXIT).

Stories like this keep me motivated to be on the #MFM #OB side one day. 🥰
